A Narrative Study On The Modeling Language Of Traditional Animation Characters

Some art workers may ignore the importance of literary narration and story plot when creating animation works,and focus too much on the world view and character art settings,picture quality,production technology,etc..As a result,many animated pictures are visually gorgeous and eye-catching,but the storyline is not enough to support its artistic quality.In fact,no matter what form or medium it is,the importance of narrative in achieving a work with a plot cannot be ignored.Especially for the adaptation of literary works into animation works,the narrative of the story plot is closely related to the background,characters and other elements in the full design.Under the background of the new era,this paper explores the needs of traditional culture communication in our country and the way to better combine Chinese culture and animation.This research will have important reference significance for promoting the development process of Chinese animation and improving the design content of Chinese animation.This article takes the animation series of Century Classic Literary Works as an example to explore the narrative nature of the animation character modeling design language with traditional themes,which provides specific reference ideas and theoretical basis for exploring the animation transformation of national literature.Therefore,this paper mainly achieves the research results by discussing the following aspects.First of all,this article summarizes several existing animation modeling styles,and provides several reference design ideas for creating character modeling.Secondly,it analyzes the narration of characters in traditional literature from four aspects: background story,character characteristics,action design and transformation opportunity.What ’ s more,it not only combines the two theories to comprehensively analyze the relationship between character modeling language and text narrative,but also discusses its influence by literary narrative from the perspective of character modeling.Finally,it takes the animation works created in this research topic as examples to analyze the character’s modeling design and work style.In the final part,it summarizes the content of the article,and draws conclusions about the necessity of narrative for character modeling in the animation design of traditional themes,and the importance of promoting the animation of traditional culture under the background of the new era.
