Aggressive behavior is one of the manifestations of individual social maladaptation, often has antisocial characteristics and extensive negative effects, and has always been a research hotspot in the field of mental health.According to the report of the World Health Organization, about 43% of violent crimes in the world are young people aged 10-29.The college student group is in this age group, and the aggressive behavior of college students is more hidden and complex than that of teenagers. Therefore, this research mainly focuses on the generation mechanism and protective factors of college students’ aggressive behavior. At the same time, the Internet has become an important channel for college students to conduct social interactions and acquire new knowledge. However, due to the characteristics of the Internet, such as anonymity,time-space uncertainty, and lack of social clues, the phenomenon of cyberostracism among college students is becoming more and more common. It will bring many negative experiences to the individual, such as pain, impaired needs, depression, anxiety, etc.Individuals may have aggressive behaviors to alleviate negative emotional states or revenge psychology, and individual aggressive behaviors may further increase their rejection by others possibility, creating a vicious circle. The need-threat time model in the field of ostracism points out that basic psychological needs play an important role in the impact of social exclusion on aggressive behavior, and this study explores whether the need-threat time model is also applicable to social exclusion in cyberspace,i.In the process of influencing college students’ aggressive behavior, whether basic psychological needs play a mediating role.In terms of research on protective factors of aggressive behavior, previous studies have paid more attention to emotional and cognitive variables such as empathy, anger, hostility attribution bias, and seldom explored protective factors of aggressive behavior from the perspective of selfcognition.Self-affirmation theory puts forward the concept of self-integrity,that is,individuals think that they are generally good and adapt to society, which is a cognitive concept of self.In the face of psychological threats, individuals with high self-integrity are often able to respond in a socially well-adapted way through self-affirmation strategies, that is,to maintain self-integrity by affirming self-worth in areas unrelated to threat information, thereby avoiding defensiveness response.Therefore,self-integrity and self-affirmation may play an important role in breaking the vicious circle between cyberostracism and aggressive behavior.College students are the main force of Internet use,and college campuses are also the last places where aggressive behavior and violence should occur. Therefore,in order to clarify the influence relationship between cyberostracism and college students’ aggressive behavior and the protective factors, this study is divided into two sub-studies,using a combination of questionnaire survey and experimental paradigm to explore the influence of cyberostracism on college students’ aggressive behavior.effects and their internal mechanisms.Specifically, this study explores the mediating role of basic psychological needs between social exclusion and aggression based on the need threat time model and the general aggression model, and explores the role of self-integrity and self-affirmation in social exclusion and basic psychology based on the self-affirmation theory.Moderation in the relationship between need and aggression.Study 1 used the method of questionnaire survey, collected 377 effective questionnaires from college students, and investigated the relationship between college students’ experience of cyberostracism in their daily life and their aggressive behavior tendency(general aggressiveness),as well as the mediation of basic psychological needs in this relationship.Moderation of role and self-integrity.Study 2 adopts the method of experimental paradigm, recruits 30 college students in the pre-experiment,and explores the effectiveness of the online throwing ball game paradigm in inducing college students’ sense of social exclusion on the Internet, and the impact of social exclusion on college students’ aggressive behavior;the formal experiment recruits 163 subjects College students were tested to explore whether the threat of basic psychological needs plays a mediating role in the relationship between immediate cyberostracism and aggressive behavior of college students, and the moderating effect of self-affirmation manipulated by the value writing task, that is,whether self-affirmation can moderate the threat of basic psychological needs The latter half of the mediating role between immediate online social ostracism and aggressive behavior in college students.Research indicates:(1)College students’ experience of network social exclusion in daily life can positively predict general aggressiveness.(2)The satisfaction of basic psychological needs plays a partial mediating role between cyberostracism and general aggressiveness.(3)Self-integrity moderated the second half of the mediating role of basic psychological need satisfaction between cyberostracism and general aggression.(4)The sense of social exclusion on the Internet can induce the aggressive behavior of college students, and the threat of basic psychological needs plays a complete mediating role between the sense of ostracism on the Internet and the aggressive behavior of college students.(5)Among the four sub-dimensions of threat of basic psychological needs(sense of control, sense of belonging, sense of self-esteem,and sense of meaning),only the threat of sense of control plays a mediating role between ostracism and aggressive behavior on the Internet, and the sense of belonging,self-esteem The mediating effect of sense of existence and meaning of existence is not significant.(6)Self-affirmation moderated the second half of the mediating effect of the total score of basic psychological needs threat and threat of control on the relationship between cyberostracism and aggressive behavior.
