| The formation process of career compromise is not only related to situational factors,but also closely related to individual characteristics.When individuals experience layoffs,voluntary resignations and epidemic related uncertainties under the COVID-19 pandemic,these events may cause individual occupational anxiety and decline in economic level under the uncertainty of epidemic related environment,thus improving the level of occupational compromise;However,in some cases,individual proactive personality traits may also reduce the degree of career compromise among participants.The theory of resource conservation can better explain the above issues,analyzing individual behavior in a certain context from the perspective of individual resource acquisition and loss.Under normal circumstances,people will actively strive to maintain,maintain,and establish a resource pool that they consider valuable;However,when faced with a market economy depression similar to that caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,people’s resources are experiencing actual or potential losses,which is very dangerous for the resources they protect(Hobfoll,2001).We take talents from various industries in the context of the epidemic as the research object,and use case interviews and questionnaire surveys to collect data,which is of great value for in-depth understanding of the occupational compromise situation of employees caused by the epidemic.In terms of empirical research,the research steps and hypotheses were first proposed,and interview outlines were designed for employees in different industries.Through one-on-one in-depth interviews with 12 respondents,the main factors affecting career compromise were identified;Then,a survey questionnaire was designed based on the main factors that affect employee career compromise.The questionnaire was distributed to 382 professionals with work experience in different industries,and 345 valid questionnaires were collected for analysis to verify the factors that affect employee career compromise.The results showed that the uncertainty related to COVID-19 epidemic had a positive impact on career compromise,in which occupational anxiety and economic pressure played a mediating role,and proactive personality played a moderating role between the uncertainty related to COVID-19 epidemic and occupational anxiety and economic pressure.Based on the background of COVID-19 high flow behavior,this study explored the antecedents of career compromise,improved the relevant research on career compromise,and provided comparison and reference value for other research in the post epidemic era. |
