With the rapid development of mobile information technology,smartphone has increasingly been an indispensable tool in our daily life due to their portability,entertainment and real-time functions.Although smart phones provide great convenience for everyone,it also has some negative effects.Mobile phone dependence has gradually become a prominent problem behavior of junior high school students due to their convenient services and stimulating applications.Adolescence is a critical transition period and turning point in life.Since the mental development of adolescents in this period is not yet mature,and their volitional control is poor,so they are more susceptible to adverse factors in the external environment.According to the characteristics of semimature and semi-dependent junior high school students,this study aims to grasp the current situation of the parenting style of junior high school students,and it studies the interaction between the parenting style of junior high school students and mobile phone dependence,then it explores the mediating effect of volitional control between the parenting style and mobile phone dependence.So it can reveals the influence and mechanism of the parenting style of junior high school parents on mobile phone dependence.Based on this study,a group counseling program for volitional control was further designed,and the effect of group counseling intervention on improving volitional control and reducing mobile phone dependence of junior high school students was explored.Specifically,two studies were carried out on this topic: Study 1 used the questionnaire method.The questionnaire used the "Mobile Phone Dependence Scale for Middle School Students" compiled by Wang Xiaohu,the "Parenting Style Scale" developed by Gong Yihua,and the volitional control subquestionnaire in "Early Adolescent Temperament Problems-Revised Edition" compiled by Capaldi and Rothbart.This study used the overall sampling method to select 416 samples of middle school students from the seventh to the ninth grade of junior high school in Wuchang District,Wuhan City.Using SPSS26.0 to conduct descriptive statistics,difference tests,correlation analysis and mediation effect tests on the collected data,the following conclusions were obtained:(1)There was no significant difference in the parenting style,volitional control,and mobile phone dependence of junior high school parents in whether they were only children and whether their parents were educated;(2)Junior high school students’ authoritarian,doting,and neglectful parenting styles positively predict mobile phone dependence and negative predict volitional control;Junior high school students’ trust-encouraging,emotionally warm parenting style negatively predicts mobile phone dependence,and positively predicts junior high school students’ will control.(3)Junior high school students’ volitional control negatively predicts mobile phone dependence;(4)Will control has a significant mediating effect between junior high school students’ authoritarian,doting,neglectful,trusting and encouraging,emotionally warm parenting style and mobile phone dependence.On the basis of Study 1,Study 2 used the questionnaire of mobile phone dependence and volitional control of junior high school students,statistically selected 16 participants with high mobile phone dependence scores and low volitional control level.And it set the research objects as 8 in the experimental group and 8 in the control group,and formulated a group counseling intervention program for the participants with reference to the intervention method of group counseling by scholar He Mingmin,and compared and analyzed the before and after test data of the experimental group and the control group before and after the group counseling intervention.The results showed that:(1)there was no obvious differences in volitional control and mobile phone dependence between the experimental group and the control group before group counseling;(2)After the intervention of group counseling,the level of volitional control in the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group,while the degree of mobile phone dependence was lower than that of the control group;(3)There weren’t significant differences in volitional control and mobile phone dependence in the control group before and after group counseling interventions.The results showed that the group counseling intervention had an obvious effect in this study,which could improve the level of volitional control of junior high school students and further reduce the level of dependence on mobile phones.In summary,this study expands the research in this field by elucidating the internal mechanism of the parenting style of junior high school students affecting mobile phone dependence.The results of this study play a certain reference and reference role for parents to adopt scientific and reasonable parenting methods. |
