Research On The Indo-Pacific Strategy Of The Modi Administration

India’s Indo-Pacific strategy is aimed at coping with the rise of China,and based on the Indian Ocean,it expands its strategic space eastward.Under the guidance of this strategy,India actively rammed its dominant position in the Indian Ocean;take the Act East as the starting point,to carry out cooperation with ASEAN countries;Draw in the United States,Japan,France and other countries within and outside the region to balance China’s geographical advantages in the Indo-Pacific.In its policy towards China,India has hedged the risk of possible escalation in military security by means of political and economic contacts and political security guarantees.The characteristics of India’s Indo-Pacific strategy include non-aligned realism,brinkmanship that calculates risks and benefits,and strong Hindu nationalism.However,India’s Indo-Pacific strategy is limited by resources,naval capacity,social cohesion,and domestic political constraints,which will affect the implementation effect of the Indo-Pacific strategy to a great extent.Despite this,India will continue to push forward Indo-Pacific strategy to realize India’s dream of being a world power.India’s Indo-Pacific strategy will have a certain negative impact on China’s geopolitical environment,the construction of the Belt and Road,maritime security and energy passage.China should maintain strategic prudence and actively and prudently respond to the situation in the Indo-Pacific.
