The intensification of the aging of the population has led to the problem of the imbalance of the age structure in China’s labor market and the disappearance of the"demographic dividend".The working age population will face a crisis of negative growth, which will hinder China’s deepening reform process and bring severe challenges to China’s sustainable development strategy. How to fully tap the potential labor force, maximize the effective labor supply, and ensure the sustainable and stable development of society and economy is an important issue for our country. In the traditional Chinese society, family members are highly united, and they are keeping watch and helping each other in the family community.Because of the division of labor in the family, women usually choose to sacrifice themselves, sacrifice their energy, time and work for the growth of children, return to the family, take care of children and the elderly, and men take the responsibility of taking care of work and supporting the family.Women assume the responsibility of taking care of their families. This seriously hinders women’s labor participation and labor supply provided by women. This also means that women will face more conflicts between family and work in the context of the liberalization of the three child policy. How to solve the contradiction between women’s family and work so as to achieve a better and higher quality employment level is an urgent problem to be solved in China’s economic construction. This research deeply analyzes the influence of intergenerational upbringing on female labor force.(1)By screening the data,it is found that the aging population has become the current social state in China, the number of working age population will be in a negative growth state in the future, and the demographic dividend of China will gradually disappear.According to the data,it is found that the decline of labor force can be attributed to the decline of female labor force, and it is also found that intergenerational dependency behavior may have an impact on the supply of female labor force.(2)Literature review, defining concepts related to intergenerational support, intergenerational support and labor supply, citing labor supply theory and intergenerational support theory, combing previous studies on women’s labor supply and intergenerational support(3)Analyzing the current situation of women’s labor supply with CFPS data. This study uses the data of"China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)" in 2018 and 2016 to demonstrate how intergenerational upbringing affects female labor supply. The variables include the interpreted variables, the core explanatory variables and the control variables. The explained variables are divided into "non-agricultural labor participation","working hours" and "female wage income".The core explanatory variables are divided into"intergenerational time support" and "intergenerational economic support".The control variables are from three aspects:personal characteristics, spouse characteristics and family characteristics, including "female age","female education years","female health","residence","household registration" and "whether there is a system";"Spouse age","Spouse health","Spouse years of education","Spouse annual income";"Child age","Whether there are 0-3 years old children","Whether there are 3-6 years old children","Whether there are children over 6 years old","Whether there are children under 6 years old","Number of children","Family population".Use the statistical software stata to filter the required variables from the CFPS database and match them one by one.(4)Using probit model and tobit model, this paper discusses the influence of grandparents’ intergenerational time support and intergenerational economic support on women’s non-agricultural labor participation, working hours and annual wage income.Empirical research and analysis of the model were carried out to explore the differences between rural and urban areas and the impact of children’s age structure on women’s labor supply; The intergenerational economic support is not obvious.Compared with urban women and rural women, urban women need more intergenerational time support from their grandparents; When children are 0 to 3 years old,33%to 36%of the female labor force will participate in non-agricultural labor;when children are 3 to 6 years old,9%to 10%of the female labor force will participate in non-agricultural labor;when children are over 6 years old,10%to 11%of the female labor force will participate in non-agricultural labor force. It is suggested that the government should start from the employment policy, subsidy policy, retirement policy, market regulation and community construction, and improve the corresponding policies to improve China’s labor participation. The innovation of this study lies in(1)introducing the intergenerational support theory, further differentiating the intergenerational upbringing behavior, and respectively exploring the impact of intergenerational economic support and intergenerational time support on female labor supply.(2)Further distinguish the impact of children’s age on female labor force in the case of intergenerational upbringing.Divide the age structure of children to explore how children of different ages affect the supply of female labor force, what are the causes affecting the supply of female labor force, and to what extent.
