| Government trust is an indispensable element of the operation of the political system,while fairness and justice are the prerequisites for achieving common prosperity.The study of both has important practical significance.At the Sixth Plenary Session of the 18 th CPC Central Committee,General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out: “No political consideration is more important than the people;no force is more powerful than justice.” At the same time,if the economy wants to achieve high-quality development,it should first promote social fairness and justice,and promoting social fairness and justice is an important value pursuit for achieving high-quality economic development.Therefore,scholars from different countries have been working to explore the relationship between the government trust and social fairness and justice.However,at present,most of the domestic research and discussion on government trust focus on “the pattern of difference sequence”,and the research results also show an obvious trend of convergence of views.Most foreign scholars focus on the direct impact of social fairness on government trust.As a variable that can be affected by both social equity and government trust,political efficacy has little research on the relationship between them.Based on the above analysis,this paper constructs a theoretical model that the sense of social equity affects the government trust through political efficacy,and adds social inclusion as a regulatory variable,then uses the “2019 Chinese Social Survey”(CSS 2019)to conduct empirical research.The results of the study show that the mediated model with regulation is established:(1)Distributive equity and procedural fairness have a positive impact on government trust;(2)Political efficacy plays a partial mediating role between social fairness and government trust;(3)As one of the manifestations of social quality,social inclusion can positively regulate the relationship between social fairness and political efficacy.The quantile regression of social fairness and government trust shows that with the increase of residents’ social fairness,the marginal effect will gradually decrease,and the increase of government trust will also gradually decrease.The study not only verified the importance of social fairness in enhancing government trust,but also emphasizes that it is also necessary to pay attention to the two factors of residents’ sense of political efficacy and social tolerance.Improving social fairness will help to enhance residents’ sense of political efficacy,while improving social inclusion will also help to enhance residents’ sense of political efficacy,and thus enhance residents’ trust in the government. |
