| The abolition of private ownership, the overthrow of bourgeois rule, the elimination of class antagonism and the liberation of all mankind is the great mission given to the proletariat by history. This was proposed by Marx on the basis of his examination of the history of human society and his analysis of the reality of capitalist society, and it still shines brightly today and is constantly enriched and developed in guiding the realistic practice of the proletariat. In the evolution of human society, the process of its continuous development is the process of mankind’s continuous pursuit of liberation, and the proletariat,as the gravedigger of capitalist society, plays an extremely important role in Marxist doctrine. In the society in which Marx lived, along with the rise of the industrial revolution, the capitalist mode of production developed rapidly, the basic contradictions of capitalism intensified, the working people were impoverished, the proletariat was subjected to brutal exploitation and oppression, and the workers’ movement grew stronger and stronger day by day.The search for a way to emancipate the proletariat was thus urgent at that time. But Marx’s perspective did not stop at the emancipation of the proletariat. While exposing the fact that workers were oppressed by the capitalists,he also discovered that the bourgeoisie was controlled by capital, thus turning his research horizon to the whole of humanity, elucidating the important role of the proletariat in social history and proposing the historical mission of the proletariat, that is,the liberation of humanity. The proletarian revolution is different from previous revolutions, which were struggles of different classes for their own domination in the society, struggles of some classes to replace others and become the rulers of the whole society, while the proletarian revolution is a revolution for the benefit of the majority of the people, and what the exploiting classes wanted to build in the past was an old society full of class antagonisms, while The proletariat wants to build a new society,a "union" of free people. The mission of the proletariat is based on the material wealth and political emancipation created by the bourgeoisie,an emancipation that implies the emancipation of the majority or the vast majority of the people.Fundamentally, proletarian emancipation is identical with human emancipation, for the proletariat can only ultimately liberate itself on the basis of the liberation of all humanity. In this sense, the proletariat’s emancipation is consistent with the emancipation of mankind, and the historical mission of realizing the emancipation of all mankind can be realized only through the proletariat. This paper explains how the proletariat came into Marx’s vision and why Marx believed that the proletariat could take up the important task of realizing the historical mission by studying the classical literature of Marx and Engels, and then interprets Marx’s historical mission of the proletariat.By sorting out its development,it is of great theoretical and practical significance for a correct understanding of the contemporary proletariat and its historical mission. |
