| The modernization process has led mankind into a highly uncertain risk society,and the role of national governance capacity in coping with various risk challenges is increasingly apparent.With the continuous improvement of China’s national governance capacity,the perception of government governance effectiveness among the Chinese people is also constantly increasing.As an important psychological variable,it is unclear what impact the perception of government governance effectiveness will have on people’s political participation behavior.The relevant research of existing scholars shows the characteristics of fragmentation,which is not systematic and comprehensive enough.Therefore,the impact of perceived government governance effectiveness on people’s political participation behavior deserves reconsideration and research,which is of great significance for deepening the understanding of perceived government governance effectiveness and promoting orderly participation of people in political life.This article uses the survey data from the "Comprehensive Survey of China’s Social Conditions" database(CSS)from 2015 to 2019,and uses Stata17 software to quantitatively analyze the trend and impact relationship between the perception of government governance efficiency and political participation behavior of the Chinese people from 2015 to 2019 using factor analysis,Logit,and Ologit regression models.The findings of this study are as follows: Firstly,the overall score of Chinese people’s perception of government governance effectiveness shows an increasing trend year by year,but there are differences in the scores of each constituent element.The score of the "emotional identity" element ranks first and significantly higher than that of other elements,while the scores of the "social fairness" and "governance norms" elements are lower,ranking at the bottom.Secondly,in recent years,the overall proportion of Chinese people in political participation has remained relatively stable,and the increasing perception of government governance efficiency has not significantly promoted the overall increase in people’s political participation.The proportion of people engaged in electoral political participation,expressive political participation,and rights protection political participation shows a "gradient decreasing" pattern.Thirdly,from a macro perspective,the improvement in public perception of the overall governance effectiveness of the government has not only resulted in an increase in various political participation behaviors,but has instead formed a phenomenon of "high perception and low participation".That is to say,the improvement of the overall governance efficiency perception of the public only has a promoting effect on their electoral political participation behavior,while it has a varying degree of weakening effect on their expressive political participation behavior and rights protection political participation behavior.Fourthly,the regression analysis of the various components of government governance efficacy perception on political participation behavior further confirms the above phenomenon.Elements such as "social fairness","governance norms",and "emotional identification" can all promote the people’s electoral political participation behavior.The elements of "public service","social equity","governance norms",and "social order" significantly reduce people’s expressive political participation behavior.In addition,various governance elements,especially the "social equity" element,can effectively reduce people’s political participation in safeguarding their rights.This article explains and explores the above research findings from the perspectives of the "economic man" hypothesis and political system theory.The research inspiration of this article is as follows: it is necessary to dialectically recognize and examine the impact of government governance efficiency perception on various political participation behaviors of the public.While improving government governance efficiency,it is necessary to promote orderly and effective political participation of the public.Firstly,the governance effectiveness of various elements of governance effectiveness should be fully unleashed,the shortcomings of governance elements such as social equity should be improved,and the irrational political participation of the public should be reduced.Secondly,efforts should be made to improve the executive power and absorptive power of various democratic systems,build consensus among the people through institutionalized channels,and promote orderly political participation.Once again,through political culture and psychological construction,we aim to enhance the enthusiasm of the people for political participation,enhance the vitality of socialist consultative democracy,and promote meaningful political participation.Finally,we should attach importance to the new forms and fields of people’s political participation in the digital information society,broaden the depth,breadth,and effectiveness of political participation,enhance the true influence of people’s political participation,and promote effective political participation.In summary,this article uses the "Comprehensive Survey of Chinese Social Conditions" series of data to describe the changing trends in the perception of government governance effectiveness and various political participation behaviors of the Chinese people,and systematically explores the specific impact of government governance effectiveness perception on their political participation behaviors.The construction of quantitative indicators plays an important role in promoting the independent knowledge system of political science.This study is an attempt based on this purpose,but there are still many shortcomings.Therefore,the construction and research of quantitative indicators represented by the perception of government governance effectiveness should receive more attention,and continue to explore their impact effects and mechanisms on various political psychology and behaviors in the field of national governance. |
