A Study Of Digital Labor In The Context Of Marx’s Theory Of Labor Value

With the booming development of digital technologies such as the Internet,big data and 5G,everyone who uses smart devices is inevitably caught in this digital wave,and digital labor plays an increasingly important role in production and life,while academics are divided over the concept,form and value source of digital labor.Therefore,how to view digital labor is not only a practical issue,but also a theoretical one.Marx’s labor theory of value contains profound insights into the creation of value by labor,as well as insights into capitalist society.Only by returning to the perspective of Marx’s labor theory of value can we better answer such questions as what changes digital labor has compared with other forms of labor,what creates value in digital labor,and what drawbacks digital labor hides.The analysis of this thesis on digital labor is precisely the latest application of Marx’s labor theory of value in the era of digital economy,and follows a logical way from abstract to concrete on the whole.The thesis identifies the concept of digital labor on the basis of sorting out domestic and foreign digital labor research results,followed by theoretical analysis of digital labor process and value creation process,and then analyzes the global and domestic digital labor picture as well as the practical significance of digital labor.On the basis of the above research,the following conclusions are mainly drawn: first,digital labor is an immaterial form of labor,and digital labor includes both paid and unpaid digital labor;second,the labor process of digital labor is more complex than any previous forms of labor,which is intuitively reflected in the structural elements of digital labor,but the digital labor process is still under the domination of capital logic.Third,the Marxist labor theory of value still has explanatory power for digital labor.In digital labor,it is still abstract labor that creates value and concrete labor that creates use value,the circulation of digital commodities still follows the law of value,and the distribution of surplus value in digital labor is also determined by the relations of production.Fourthly,examining digital labor from the perspective of Marx’s labor theory of value has profound theoretical and practical significance,which is enlightening to the current development of digital economy in our country.
