Fertility is an important factor in family development and social progress. In today’s society, with the intensification of intergenerational changes, increasing residents’ willingness to have children and maintaining a high fertility rate are not only important measures to address aging, but also key to promoting healthy economic development. With the development of the social economy, the concept of childbirth has gradually evolved into the concept of"having fewer children and having better children".The elderly care role of childbirth has been placed in the second place, and "insurance elderly care" has attracted more and more attention under the advocacy of the country. The willingness to have children can affect residents’ elderly care concepts, thereby affecting their participation in commercial pension insurance. Therefore, this article studies the participation of residents in commercial pension insurance and explores the impact mechanism of fertility willingness on residents’participation in commercial pension insurance, which has important practical significance. This thesis constructs the probit model,Logit model and propensity score matching model, and uses the data of the Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS)in 2017 to empirically analyze the relationship and impact between fertility desire and residents’ participation in commercial endowment insurance. In addition, this paper also uses subjective well-being as a mediating variable to further explore the impact mechanism of fertility desire on residents’participation in commercial endowment insurance,Finally, explore heterogeneity from the perspectives of urban and rural areas and regions.Research has shown that willingness to have children can promote the participation of commercial pension insurance, and the willingness of residents to have children of different genders has different impacts on the participation of commercial pension insurance.Based on empirical results, the following suggestions are proposed on how to improve the positive interaction ability between fertility intention and commercial pension insurance:firstly,to achieve a positive interaction between fertility and commercial pension insurance supporting policies;Secondly, improving the social environment for residents’ willingness to have children;Thirdly, deepen the supply side structural reform of the insurance industry;Fourthly, enhance the targeting of commercial pension insurance products to meet the diverse needs of commercial pension insurance products. |
