On The Xinmin Society And The Early Spread Of Marxism

Among the Chinese communists in the early stage of the dissemination of Marxism,there was born a progressive association--"Xinmin Society",which actively studied and propagated the new Marxist thoughts.Xinmin Society was founded in April 1918 and existed for three years,but it played a positive role in accelerating the early dissemination of Marxism and the establishment of the Communist Party of China.At the beginning of its establishment,Xinmin Society was originally a progressive society that innovated academics,strengthened character and improved people’s customs.Later,under the agitation of problems and doctrine,it was determined to reform China and the world,and finally chose a Marxist revolutionary group.During the existence of Xinmin Society for about three years,in terms of the dissemination of progressive ideas,Xiangjiang Review,Culture Book Club and Hunan self-study University were founded,which played a role in the early dissemination of Marxism in liberating the mind,promoting the dissemination of progressive culture and cultivating revolutionary talents.In the aspect of political participation,it launched the Drive Zhang movement,the Hunan Autonomy Movement and the work-study movement in France,which played a role in the early dissemination process of Marxism in the fight against the feudal warlords,the reform of Hunan society and the search for the salvation of truth and knowledge.The members of the Xinmin Society are a group of progressive young people who dare to resist the old world and enthusiastically pursue a new life.The establishment of the Xinmin Society is the embodiment of their aspirations,and also provides a platform for them to realize their ideals.In the development process of the Xinmin Society,different periods and different members have different views and opinions on changing China’s politics,culture and ideology,but the exploration of China’s future road by the Xinmin Society is in line with the objective law of historical development,and it has played a positive role in the early spread of Marxism in China.With the communist ideal in mind,the members of Xinmin Society actively studied and spread Marxism,and devoted themselves to the actual communist revolutionary struggle.The struggle against imperialism,feudalism and warlords that the members of Xinmin Society led and participated in was an important part of the early communist revolutionary movement in China.The revolutionary struggle led and participated by the members of the Xinmin Society trained the revolutionary team and made the Communist Party of China complete its organizational preparations.Through organized propaganda and learning of Marxism,most of the members of the Xinmin Society became the backbone of the New Democratic revolution in China,which laid the organizational foundation for the founding of the Communist Party of China.It has trained and brought up a large number of outstanding revolutionary cadres of the Party.
