A Study On The Functions Of Local Government In The Development Of Private Universities In Wenzhou

Nowadays,private education is developing rapidly,and the running team of private universities in our country is constantly growing.Private universities are an important part of higher education and a force that cannot be underestimated in promoting the development of education in our country.In the development of private higher education,the government plays a vital role.For the sustainable development of private higher education,the Wenzhou municipal government needs to clarify its own functional positioning and perform planning,finance,coordination,and supervision functions in the development of private universities.However,through field research,interviews and other methods,it is found that the government performance of duties in the development of Wenzhou private universities has problems such as offside,absence,dislocation and so on.The reasons for these problems are:the government does not fully understand the significance of the development of private universities;The government’s rights and responsibilities in the development of private universities are not clear;the government’s supervision mechanism in the development of private universities is not sound.In order to promote the development of private higher education,the Wenzhou government needs to perform its duties more effectively in the development of private universities,scientifically plan to strengthen the professional construction and discipline development of private universities;formulate policies and regulations suitable for the development of private universities;highlight the government’s service function to private universities;increase the government’s financial support for private universities;strengthen the government’s supervision and management of private universities,so as to promote the healthy development of private universities.
