The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China integrated education,science and technology,and talents for the first time,which reflects the important role of education in Chinese path to modernization.As an education type with the same important status as general education,vocational education shoulders the task of providing innovative and highly skilled talents for the comprehensive construction of a socialist modern country and the in-depth implementation of the innovation driven development strategy.It is an inevitable choice for higher vocational colleges to vigorously develop innovation and entrepreneurship education and cultivate innovative high skilled talents to adapt to the development situation of the times,serve the national strategic needs and enhance the adaptability of vocational education.Teachers are the core elements of innovation and entrepreneurship education in higher vocational colleges.Optimizing the construction mode of innovation and entrepreneurship teachers and building a high level of competent teachers are related to the high-quality development of innovation and entrepreneurship education in higher vocational colleges.Starting from the new characteristics of innovation and entrepreneurship education in higher vocational colleges in the new era and the new requirements of the new era for the teaching staff,this research analyzes the concepts of higher vocational colleges,innovation and entrepreneurship education,and teacher competency.Combining with the research on teacher competency model in higher vocational colleges,this research explores the construction of innovation and entrepreneurship education teaching staff in higher vocational colleges based on humanistic management theory and workplace learning theory.Through literature research,questionnaire survey,data analysis,etc.,a competency model of innovation and entrepreneurship teachers in higher vocational colleges has been constructed,which includes 28 competency elements in four dimensions: personal characteristics,education and teaching ability,innovation and entrepreneurship ability,and practical education ability.A measurement scale of innovation and entrepreneurship teachers’ competency in higher vocational colleges has been formed to conduct a questionnaire survey on the status of the teaching staff.Through the data analysis of the collected measurement scale,it is concluded that the overall competency level of innovation and entrepreneurship teachers in higher vocational colleges is above the middle level,but the competency level of each dimension is unbalanced,the level of individual competency characteristics is low,and there are problems such as deviation of innovation and entrepreneurship education concept,lack of innovation spirit,and weak ability to integrate industry and innovation.Based on the analysis of society,universities,teachers and other aspects,the causes of the problems are found,At present,the society should give more support,innovate the management system of teachers,improve the process of teacher education and training,improve the attention of teachers,and create a good atmosphere for the construction of teachers;Higher vocational colleges should improve the management level,carry out teacher training,optimize the assessment and guidance,and consolidate the foundation for the construction of teachers;Teachers should constantly update the concept of innovation and entrepreneurship education,continuously learn the knowledge of innovation and entrepreneurship education,actively participate in various innovation and entrepreneurship organizations,and continuously improve their personal competence.Only through the joint efforts of various parties can we build a high-level team of innovative and entrepreneurial teachers in higher vocational colleges and achieve the goal of cultivating highly skilled innovative talents in the new era.The research on the construction of teaching staff for innovation and entrepreneurship in higher vocational colleges from the perspective of competency has far-reaching research significance.However,this research still needs to be closely linked with the requirements of the times,and further test the research results through practical application.
