Entering the new era,college education is committed to training new people who bear the responsibility of national rejuvenation,focusing on cultivating college students with all-round development of morality,intelligence,physical fitness,the United States and labor.However,in the context of economic globalization,political multi-polarization,social informatization and cultural diversification,the development of college students’ psychological mentality is impacted,resulting in frequent mental health problems and increasing psychological crisis events,which brings great challenges to college education.At the same time,the current is the critical period of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,college students shouldering the mission and heavy responsibility,need to comprehensively improve their psychological quality,shape their psychological character,improve their ability to cope with and deal with complex problems.As an important part of the "Ten systems" to improve the quality of ideological and political work,psychological education is the key to whether college students can have a sound personality and achieve all-round development.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to grasp the connotation and characteristics of psychological education in colleges and universities,understand and analyze the current situation of psychological education in colleges and universities,and optimize the working system of psychological education in colleges and universities.Fundamentally speaking,psychological education in colleges and universities focuses on cultivating new people for the "Chinese dream" of national rejuvenation,and mainly answers the practical questions of "who to educate" and "how to educate" in the educational goals of colleges and universities.This paper studies the connotation,significance,current situation,optimization countermeasures and other issues of psychological education in colleges and universities.Besides the introduction,it consists of the following parts:The first part explores the specific connotations and characteristics of psychological education in universities.By explaining the specific connotation of "psychological education" and analyzing concepts such as "mental health education",clarify the relationship between psychological education and various related concepts.Comprehensively interpret the characteristics of the era of psychological education in universities from four perspectives: value adherence,operation mode,internal driving force,and work form.The second part emphasizes the importance of psychological education in colleges and universities.From psychological education to enhance students’ individual efficacy,individual resilience activation,individual bad state of mind counseling;From psychological education to ideological and political education work methods,work content,work opportunities;From the aspects of psychological education to the construction of harmonious campus,the cultivation of talents needed by society and the promotion of social core values,the author fully interprets the importance of psychological education in colleges and universities.In the third part,on the basis of questionnaire survey and interview records,the author analyzes and studies the practical effects and existing problems of psychological education in colleges and universities at the present stage.In the process of development,the emphasis of psychological education in colleges and universities is increased,the practice is widely carried out,and the subject is diversified.However,in the specific work,there are some problems in the psychological education in colleges and universities,the tendency of "emphasizing correction over development" in the education work is still obvious、the main role of the education course needs to be played、the education process lacks a systematic operation and management mechanism、 the practical resources of education need to be enriched and integrated,and the psychological education object does not have a deep sense of acquisition.The fourth part puts forward the optimization countermeasures of psychological education in colleges and universities on the basis of the investigation of the current situation.It proposes to improve the quality and efficiency of psychological education in colleges and universities from five aspects: clarifying the basic principles of education,improving the curriculum system of education,creating the practice platform of education,perfecting the work management mechanism and forming the joint force of education team.
