| With the downward pressure on the economy rising and structural changes, the pressure to stabilize employment has increased, the government proposes the tasks of ensuring security in job and ensuring stability in employment. At the same time, advances in information technology such as the Internet have impacted the labor market. In this context, flexible employment has become an important way to relieve employment pressure, fully exploit and utilize the existing labor force, and stabilize the economy. In recent years, the government has encouraged and supported the development of flexible employment, and the development of the Internet also makes flexible employment presents new characteristics. However, the income situation of flexible employees, especially the large number of relatively disadvantaged workers is still not optimistic. Therefore, analyzing the wage gap between flexible employment and traditional employment,as well as the reasons for this gap, exploring the impact of the development of the Internet on this gap,and gaining a more detailed understanding of the income of flexible employees are of reference significance. This paper uses the 2014-2018 China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)data for empirical analysis.Firstly, based on wage theory and wage gap decomposition theory, this paper controls the individual and time fixed effects, and regresses the wage equations of flexible employment and traditional employment. And then uses Neumark mean decomposition method and Melly quantile decomposition method to analyze the causes of the gap and explore the impact of labor market discrimination on wage gap.On this basis, this paper further analyzes the impact of the regional Internet development on the wage gap between the two types of workers based on the multilevel linear model theory. The regression results of the wage equation show that there is a difference in the wage determination mechanism between flexible employment and traditional employment. The decomposition results of the wage gap show that there is a significant wage gap between flexible employment and traditional employment. The difference in human capital is one of the reasons why flexible employment wages are lower than traditional employment. At the same time, there is serious discrimination in the labor market. The regression results of the multilevel linear model show that the improvement of regional Internet development can increase the wages of laborers, and its effect on the wages of traditional employees is greater than that of flexible employees,so it is possible to widen the wage gap between flexible employment and traditional employment.Based on the theoretical and empirical analysis results, this article proposes some suggestions, with a view to optimizing relevant policies of flexible employment, and providing reference for taking into account the quality and fairness of employment while increasing the number of jobs. |
