| Objective:By exploring the best improvement effect of 1:1 high-intensity interval exercise with different interval duration and attention strategy on the emotional response,exercise intention and exercise behavior of sedentary college students,so that to get the most suitable exercise program.Methods:In the preliminary study,6 sedentary participants with little physical activity and low preference and tolerance for exercise intensity were selected,and the exercise amount of HIIE with different exercise duration was matched to determine the specific exercise program.Study 1 used two-factor between-group experimental design and selected 100 sedentary participants in the same way.Different exercise duration(30sHIIE,45sHIIE,60sHIIE)and different attention strategies(disassociative and associative)were taken as independent variables.The affective valence and pleasure during exercise were repeatedly measured at 20%,40%,60%,80%and 100%of the exercise period and the recovery period,and the pleasure after exercise was measured at the end of the experiment,so as to explore the influence of different exercise duration and attention strategies on HIIE’s emotional response.The Study 2 explored the changes of exercise behavior intention and physical activity after one week of exercise intervention,and used MANOVA with different exercise duration and attention strategies as independent variables,and used multiple linear regression with affective valence and enjoyment after exercise as predictive variables.The influence of different exercise schemes on subsequent exercise and the mediating effect of emotional response were analyzed.Results:(1)Study 1:For affective valence in exercise,The interaction between attention strategy and measurement time point is significant,F(4,90)=3.049,p=.039,ηp2=.032(exercise period),F(4,91)=2.965,p=.042,ηp2=.031(recovery period),the affective valence of the separated attention strategy decreased later than that of the connected attention strategy,and at the end of the HIIE,the emotional valence was restored;There was a significant interaction between exercise program and attention strategy,F(2,93)=3.535,p=.033,ηp2=.070(exercise period),F(2,94)=3.835,p=.025,ηp2=.075(recovery period),the separate attention strategy in 60sHIIE produces better emotional potency than other exercise methods.For exercise pleasure,The interaction between exercise program and attention strategy is significant,F(2,93)=4.321,p=.016,ηp2=.085,use the connected attention strategy in 30sHIIE and use the separated attention strategy in 60sHIIE with produce better sports pleasure.(2)Study 2:For exercise behavior intention,physical activity,exercise intensity preference and tolerance,The main effect of measuring time point is significant,F(3,92)=14.957,p<.001,ηp2=.137(exercise behavioral intention),F(1,115)=95.703,p<.001,ηp2=.454(physical activity),it was significantly higher in after-intervention,compared with those before-intervention.For the predictive effect of emotional responses,the standard regression coefficient of enjoyment after exercise to exercise-behavior intention is.298,t=2.699,p=.008,The results showed that the higher the enjoyment of exercise,the higher the exercise-behavior intention after a week of intervention.Conclusions:(1)During the HIIE exercise with a rest ratio of 1:1,the recovery period can restore the emotional titer of the decline in the exercise period,thus keeping it in a more positive state.(2)Choosing appropriate attention strategies in HIIE with different exercise duration can improve the emotional response.Using the connected attention strategy in 30sHIIE or using the separated attention strategy in 60sHIIE will produce better affective valence and post-exercise enjoyment.(3)A single HIIE can improve the exercise intention and physical activity of sedentary and inactive persons,and the emotional response can positively predict the follow-up exercise behavior intention of sedentary and inactive persons.Therefore,in order to improve the intention of exercise behavior,we can use the connected attention strategy in 30sHIIE or the separated attention strategy in 60sHIIE. |
