| In the contemporary society where science and technology are increasingly changing the production and life of human society,Socio-scientific Issues have gradually entered the field of science education.Socio-scientific Issues(SSI)refers to the real problems that have controversial effects on social economy,social ethics,environmental protection,human health and other aspects,such as the use of chemical fertilizers,pesticides,fossil fuels and food additives.Teaching materials can provide useful help and support for teachers to carry out Socio-scientific Issues.Therefore,it is of positive practical significance to study the compilation of Socio-scientific Issues in teaching materials.After understanding the research status of textbook analysis and combining the characteristics of Socio-scientific Issues to be studied,this study determines the framework of textbook analysis.The three first-class dimensions are topic content type,presentation mode and content organization.According to the classification of the content types of the topics by scholars,the topics are classified according to the knowledge fields and geographical coverage under the first dimension of the content type: the knowledge fields are divided into five categories:ecological environment,resource utilization,human health,scientific and technological knowledge and policy system,and the regional scope is divided into three categories: global,national and regional.The presentation methods are mainly divided into three categories: text,extended columns(including supplementary materials,thinking and communication,choice and decision-making,micro topics)and exercises.According to SSI teaching mode,the constituent elements of topic content organization are summarized as follows: basic knowledge,background information,controversial points,information collection,proving opinions and forming decision-making.According to the textbook analysis framework constructed,this study selects junior middle school chemistry textbooks of people’s Education Edition and Shandong Education Edition,as well as senior high school chemistry compulsory textbooks of people’s Education Edition,Luke edition and Jiangsu Education Edition as the research object,through the statistical analysis of the SSI content,the Compilation Characteristics of junior and senior high school chemistry textbooks in Socio-scientific Issues are obtained:From the perspective of topic content types,the SSI type in middle school chemistry textbooks is dominated by global issues.There are more resource utilization issues than ecological environment and human health issues,less science,technology and policy and system issues,and the issue types in junior and senior high school chemistry textbooks have high similarity in areas and regions involved.In terms of the presentation of issues,topics appear in many forms,but most of them are text and thinking,communication and discussion;The issues appearing in the text are mainly scattered and fragmented paragraphs,and the columns lack the setting of thematic issue content.Although there are multiple issues settings in the same part of knowledge content,the relevance between issues is not strong.From the perspective of issues content organization,it has done a good job in providing basic knowledge,background information and clarifying controversial points,but it has not put forward specific and clear requirements in collecting information to prove opinions and form decisions,which is not conducive to the development of teaching practice.According to the relevant conclusions of textbook analysis,this study puts forward the teaching suggestions and textbook compilation suggestions of Socio-scientific Issues,and designs the teaching case of Socio-scientific Issues with the topic of "five no Gannan-no chemical fertilizer in the whole region" as an example.Finally,it makes a summary and prospect of this study,and makes a reflection and summary on the shortcomings of the research. |
