A Case Study On The Enhancement Of Adaptability Of The Elderly In Elderly Care Institutions

With the deepening of China’s aging and the weakening of family pension function,institutional pension has become one of the main pension methods at present.When facing the new environment,the elderly who enter the elderly care institutions need to adapt to the new life from the aspects of physiology,psychology and social communication.The elderly are prone to negative emotions and maladjustment from arranging their lives independently to passively accepting the management of institutions.If these problems are not solved,it will seriously affect their quality of life in their later years.This paper takes the elderly n-hhx in Yinchuan f elderly care institution as the research object.On the basis of obtaining the consent of the service object,his family members and the staff of the elderly care institution,the social workers provide case services to him based on the advantage perspective theory and combined with the psychosocial treatment model.Through in-depth communication,while helping the service objects vent their negative emotions,help them pay attention to their own feelings,understand their inner conflicts,coordinate the contradictions between themselves and their environment,make full use of their own resources and abilities,and take various group activities as an opportunity to help the service objects gradually enhance their adaptability to the life of elderly care institutions.Through the case service for more than 3 months,social workers effectively solved the difficulties and problems encountered by the service object n-hhx in the life of pension institutions,enhanced its adaptability to the life of pension institutions,and significantly improved its life comfort and satisfaction.In this process,social workers carry out practice by using the professional methods of social work,explore the necessity and feasibility of case service intervention in the enhancement of the adaptability of the elderly in institutions,and further think about the role of social workers in the process of participating in elderly care services,so as to provide reference for social workers to help the elderly adapt to institutional life and give full play to their professional value in the process of providing services for the elderly.
