Aesthetic education can not only improve people’s aesthetic ability and cultivates noble moral sentiments,but also stimulates students’ enthusiasm for learning,promotes intellectual development and innovative ability.To apply the aesthetic education into mathematics education means to take mathematical knowledge as a carrier and infuse aesthetic education into mathematics teaching,so that students can experience and perceive the beauty of form,content,application and emotion of mathematics through mathematical materials and mathematical problems,in order to improve students’ learning efficiency and develop their mathematical thinking ability and creativity.Through consulting and sorting out relevant literature,this study deeply excavates the contents that can be infiltrated by aesthetic education in primary school mathematics teaching.Moreover,this study conducted a questionnaire survey on the infiltration of aesthetic education in primary school mathematics teaching,97 teachers and 1771 students from five primary schools in County C were selected as respondents.The questionnaire mainly focused on students’ interest and attitudes towards mathematics learning,teachers’ understanding of mathematics aesthetic education,the importance teachers attach to the implementation of aesthetic education and the current situation of its penetration extent in mathematics classes.In order to make up for the shortcomings of the questionnaire,this study also conducted unstructured interviews with three teachers in Primary School D to specifically know the real thoughts of some teachers.Through the survey,it is found that,in the current primary schools,mathematics teachers’ aesthetic quality needs to be further improved and their ability to appreciate beauty is slightly insufficient.In addition,many schools do not pay enough attention to putting aesthetic education into effect and lack targeted aesthetic education teaching guidance for teachers in mathematics teaching.The evaluation mechanism in classes is relatively singlet and cannot reflect the subjectivity of students experiencing and feeling the beauty of mathematics,with evaluation content tending to focus on the knowledge and evaluation language lacking emotion and pertinence.In response to these problems,some strategies for the penetration of aesthetic education in primary mathematics teaching are proposed.First,teachers should strengthen their theoretical knowledge of aesthetic education in mathematics,fully master the professional knowledge and aesthetic ability.Second,teachers are supposed to follow the characteristics of mathematics textbooks,relate them with the reality,develop and use flexibly the aesthetic resources in the textbooks.Third,school related departments are expected to rely on the school-based educational research to develop specific measures to implement aesthetic education in mathematics.Finally,teachers are required to change the way of evaluation,develop reasonable evaluation criteria,make students the main role in the evaluation process,and motivate students to consciously improve their mathematical aesthetic ability.
