| In recent years,parent education has received more and more attention in our country,and parents’ educational competence level plays a key role in the effect of whole family education.In order to better realize the educational purpose of high-quality coordinated development of home,school and community,comprehensively improving parents’ educational competence has gradually become an important link in educational reform and development.The purpose of this study is to construct a model of parental education competency.The development of this model can better clarify the quality characteristics of parental education competency,and also provide a reference for evaluating the status quo of parental education competency of primary and secondary school students.First of all,this research follows Richard Boyatiz’s definition of competency and the competency "onion model" he participated in constructing as the theoretical research basis.Combined with the realistic characteristics of contemporary parents in the educational process,this paper analyzes and interprets the main characteristics of parents’educational competency,namely comprehensiveness and hierarchy,situational and dynamic,predictability,distinguish ability and acquisition.On this basis,the basic structure of the parental education competency model is further established,which is composed of five elements:"knowledge skills,social roles,educational concepts,personality traits,and educational motivations".Secondly,this study uses the behavioral event interview method,a classic competency modeling method,to explore the structural elements of parental educational competency from the bottom up.Through interviews with different parents,the competency characteristics of contemporary parents in different aspects of family education are extracted and compiled into a Dictionary of Competency in Parent Education.At the same time,the research also continuously conducts a top-down theoretical analysis of the five elements of the competency model of parent education,tries to sort out and classify the content logic of the five basic sections of the model,and code the parents extracted from the behavioral event interview results.Educational competencies are reasonably linked.After the parent education model competency model is initially constructed through the above two paths,the Delphi method(expert opinion evaluation method)is used to further discuss the structure of the parent education competency model,and more than 30 experts related to family education are invited.,front-line senior teachers and outstanding parents of primary and secondary schools,fill out the "Research on the Evaluation Index System of Parent Education Competency Expert Consultation Questionnaire",and put forward corresponding revision suggestions according to the index structure of the model,and finally formed 5 parent education competency models.Primary structure,14 secondary structures and 40 tertiary index structures.This is the core of this research.Thirdly,according to the behavioral event interview data and the preliminary results of the parent education competency model,the "Parent Education Competency Test Scale" was compiled to analyze the reliability and validity of the test,and to identify the validity and applicability of the test.Then,according to the results of the scale test investigation and analysis,the scale items used in the verification model were screened to further improve the parental education competency model.To evaluate the current status of parental educational competency development,and to conduct exploratory factor analysis on different demographic variables involved in the survey.Finally,based on the interview data of behavioral events and the survey results of the scale questionnaire,this study summarizes the current problems of family education in my country from four aspects:social conditions,educational system,school institutions and parents themselves.Uneven distribution of educational resources,lack of systematic organization mechanism for parental evaluation and training,insufficient parent education curriculum development and project-based construction,low self-improvement awareness,ability and enthusiasm,analyzes the reasons for the problems in the development of parental educational competency.On this basis,this research further focuses on raising parents’ awareness of lifelong learning and improving their own educational competencies,creating a school parent education curriculum development form and a project-based learning system,and establishing a parent education mechanism centered on improving parents’ educational competency.Constructing a healthy education ecology of sustainable development of home-school-community cooperative education and other four aspects proposes the current realistic path to improve parents’ educational competence.Based on this,the practical application value of the parent education competency model is also highlighted:as the basis for the evaluation of parent education literacy and the identification of outstanding parents,as an auxiliary tool to prevent and remedy family personality education problems,and as a reference for parent education project development and collaborative education. |
