With the vigorous development of socialist education with Chinese characteristics,the fundamental task of "establishing moral education" is playing a more pivotal role in cultivating socialist builders and successors who are well-rounded in moral,intellectual,physical,social and aesthetic development.The Party and the State attach great importance to the implementation of the fundamental task of "establishing moral education" and have issued a series of relevant educational policies to ensure its implementation.High school ideology and politics classes,with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,are the main venue for implementing the fundamental task of "establishing moral education" and the main channel for cultivating students’ core literacy in high school ideology and politics,playing an important value-led role and profoundly influencing the formation of students’ sound personality and moral quality.Therefore,this study upholds the tenet of "educating people,moral education first" in high school ideology and politics classes,and systematically explores the implementation path of the fundamental task of "establishing moral education" in high school ideology and politics classes.This study takes a middle school in Baota District,Yan’an City,as an example,and uses literature research,questionnaires,interviews and case studies to investigate the current situation of implementing the fundamental task of "establishing moral education" in the teaching of high school ideology and politics.Through a sample survey in the school,analysis of the results of teachers’ interviews and students’ questionnaires,it was found that there are currently major problems such as the lack of in-depth penetration of the educational objectives of "establishing moral education",the lack of holistic teaching content,the unified use of teaching methods and the lack of full play of teaching synergy.The reasons for the current dilemma were found to be the incomplete implementation of the educational philosophy of the fundamental task of "establishing moral education",the insufficient development of educational resources,the weak teaching ability of teaching subjects and the low standard of teaching coordination.In order to solve the difficulties encountered in practising the educational concept of "establishing moral education" in senior secondary ideology and politics classes,and to link theory with practical teaching,this study combines relevant teaching cases to seek solutions from different levels,such as the need to highlight the educational concept of "establishing moral education" in senior secondary ideology and politics classes,the need to reflect "moral education first" in the teaching content,the need to highlight "nurturing people" in the teaching methods,and the need to gather "moral education synergy" in the teaching system,in order to better promote the implementation of the fundamental task of "establishing moral education" in senior secondary ideology and politics classes,and to cultivate a batch of talents with comprehensive development and moral talents.
