Since the 21 st century, sports has become more and more popular.Accordingly, more and more researchers have begun to consider how to conduct further research in this field. At present,in the field of scientific research, the multi-disciplinary research method is applied and concerned by many researchers. In the field of sports research, the research method of cognitive neuroscience provides a new idea and perspective for this field.Research Objective: Attention span is considered as one of the core evaluation criteria of attention. At the same time,it is also regarded as one of the most important factors affecting the performance of basketball players. This study broke through previous research ideas in the field of sports research, and we adopted ERPs of cognitive neuroscience as a research method to investigate the difference in attention span between college basketball players and ordinary students majoring in sports, hoping to explore the corresponding electrophysiological indicators.Research Methods: This research mainly adopts literature data method, questionnaire survey method, experimental method and mathematical statistics, through the recruitment of northwest normal university sports college basketball players and non-professional sports college students as participants(19-25,30 people, open hole or corrected visual acuity > 1.0,both for the right-handed),divided into two groups, namely the control group(CG),basketball player group(BG),The subjects were required to refrain from drinking alcohol and smoking within 24 hours before the experiment, and to ensure adequate sleep.Meanwhile,self-rating Depression Scale and self-rating Anxiety Scale were reviewed to evaluate their mental health development.E-prime2.0 software was used to edit the stimulus program, and Sternberg paradigm was used to make the subjects make corresponding responses under difficulty 1(D1),difficulty 2(D2)and difficulty 3(D3).EGI(64-bit electrode)was used to record the eeg of the subjects accurately. The waveform, average amplitude and eeg topography of N1,P1,P2 and P3 at FZ,F3,F4,PZ,P3 and P4 electrodes were analyzed, and the response time and accuracy were recorded to statistically compare the differences among the groups.Research Results:1 The reaction time of BG group was faster than CG group under three different difficulty conditions, and the difference was significant(P < 0.05);In terms of accuracy, the accuracy of BG group was significantly higher than CG group under D1 and D2 conditions(P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference in D3.2 According to the results of P1,under D1,D2 and D3 conditions, the amplitude of BG group was significantly higher than CG group, and the difference was significant(P < 0.05).3 According to the results of N1,the amplitude of BG group was significantly higher than that of CG group under D1 and D2 conditions(P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups under D3 conditions.4 According to the results of P2,under D1,D2 and D3 conditions, the amplitude of BG group was significantly higher than CG group, and the difference was significant(P < 0.05).5 According to the results of P3,in D1 condition, the amplitude of BG group was significantly higher than that of CG group(P < 0.05).However,there was no significant difference between the two groups under D2 and D3 conditions.Research Conclusions:1.Behavioral test results showed that the attention span of BG group was significantly higher than that of CG group.2.ERPs results suggest that N1,P1 and P2 can be used as effective electrophysiological indicators to evaluate attention span in BG group.3.From the perspective of cognitive psychology, the attention span advantage of BG group mainly focused on early arousal and the selection of stimulus targets.
