Research On Attention Qualities Of Our Country's Eminent Volleyball Players

Attention is an important psychological quality in psychology. It is the mental activity of pointing at and focusing on a certain thing. In recent years, some experts and scholars have achieved a lot in the research of the athletes' attention, but still there lacks research on attention quality of high-level volleyball players. Volleyball is a teamwork game whose players confront the opponents before the net, it needs delicate techniques and high-standard cooperation of players, so volleyball is entertaining and corroborant and quite worth watching. Volleyball athletes need to hit the ball flying in the sky to the destination rapidly,steadily and accurately in a very short time, so volleyball players have to own good attention quality. Nowadays in high-level volleyball games, the attention quality of players is regarded as an important psychological indicator and is more and more emphasized by volleyball coaches. The main target of this research is to disclose the attention qualities of high-level volleyball players and then provide useful references for choosing promising players and training volleyball players, in the way of investigating the attention qualities of our country's high-level volleyball players.My research has used the methods of measuring,questionnaires,documentary and mathematical means. The researchers adopted the scales (made by Yin Hengchan, etc in 2004) as the main measuring tool, then measured,calculated and analyzed the attention qualities of 60 high-level volleyball players, and the research results are as follows:1 High-level volleyball players have better attention qualities than general volleyball players, and they especially have great advantages in attention stability and attention width.2 Among the high-level volleyball players, setters have higher attention spans and attention transfer ability; free-man players have the most outstanding attention quality of stability and the attacking players have relatively balanced attention qualities.3 The duration of professional training has a certain influence on the attention qualities of high-level volleyball players. In a certain period, players'attention qualities improve with the prolonging duration of professional training, especially these qualities: attention width,attention stability and attention transfer ability.4 Compared with professional players of other sports, high-level volleyball players have higher abilities of attention stability and attention transfer, but they have basically equal ability level of attention width and attention distribution. According to the data of experts'proximal four-dimension attention model, we can tell that high-level volleyball players have higher abilities of attention stability and attention transfer. It is also showed that the attention qualities of volleyball players have the distinct characteristics of sport groups.
