Research On The Change Of Yugur Traditional Sports Culture From The Perspective Of "Cultural Borderlands"

This research integrates social theory and popular text analysis,observes the commonness and characteristics of ethnic groups in ’ border areas ’,and studies the way groups experience social and cultural space,and the attitude to the surrounding environment and other cultural acceptance and resistance,aiming to understand the process of cultural change.In this study,from the perspective of "cultural borderlands",using the research method of sports anthropology,I resort to a field survey carried out in Sunan Yugur Autonomous County for more than two months in order to explore the change process of Yugur traditional sports culture.The research results show that the Yugur ethnic group living in the "cultural borderlands" has created a unique ethnic traditional sports culture through the interaction between the borderlands and the people.However,the development of the times has triggered a series of social changes.While gradually moving away from the "grassland cultural circle",the social space of the Yugur ethnic group is constantly approaching the other,assimilated by modern civilization,and the corresponding ethnic traditional sports culture cannot escape the declining fate.For this reason,the government departments and people of Sunan Yugur Autonomous County begin to reconstruct the traditional culture in the modern sense,including traditional ethnic sports,and reconstruct the traditional ethnic festivals.The practice subjects,such as government departments,folk elites,ordinary ethnic groups and mass media,show specific practices in line with their own interests based on different levels and purposes.By observing the specific practice of these groups,combined with the development process of Yugur traditional sports culture,summed up the state and problems of Yugur traditional sports culture in the process of change :In the process of Yugur ethnic traditional sports culture change,there is a "coexistence of old and new" situation.The common impact of modern culture and inter-ethnic culture leads to the entanglement and change of traditional sports culture between tradition and modernity.Therefore,in fact,cultural changes have been in a dynamic blend,and tradition and modernity continue to be excluded and absorbed.1.The decline of traditional sports culture caused by the change of ’ cultural circle ’.The people of Yugur far away from the ’ nomadic culture circle ’ into the settlement life,has been associated with the Yugur traditional nomadic hunting lifestyle and entertainment,and carrying a large number of grassland culture gene,ethnic memory and ethnic identity of many traditional sports ethnic decline.2.The decline of traditional sports culture caused by ’ harmony trend ’.In multi-ethnic settlements,’ seeking peace ’ and ’ seeking common ground ’ are important meaethnic relations.Therefore,all ethnic groups will make some concessions and changes in order to meet the interests of large groups.The development of ethnic traditional sports will choose more projects for the audience,which will have a negative impact on the protection and inheritance of Yugur ethnic traditional sports culture.3.Population,distribution,language and so on are difficult to resist the digestion of culture.Under the drastic changes in lifestyle and the urgent infiltration of popular culture,the Yugur ethnic group,with a sparse population and a mixed population between the Han and other ethnic minorities,has been greatly impacted.In addition,it is more difficult to resist the deconstruction caused by external culture due to the lack of text system.Therefore,the traditional sports culture of the Yugur ethnic group has declined.4.Government-led protection has achieved initial results.In recent years,under the leadership of government departments,a series of protection measures such as modern reconstruction of ethnic festivals have been made for Yugur ethnic traditional sports culture,and some ethnic traditional sports have been well carried out and inherited.5.The development of school education is conducive to the inheritance and development of ethnic traditional sports culture.It is of positive significance for the inheritance and development of the traditional sports culture of Yugur to carry out the bilingual teaching of Hanyu in school education and promote the traditional sports of Yugur on campus.6.The promotion of ethnic cultural confidence is conducive to the development of ethnic traditional sports culture.The Yugur people ’ s recognition of their own culture has improved.They are able to actively participate in competitions and activities of ethnic traditional sports,and are willing to transmit their own ethnic culture outward,which has a positive effect on the development of Yugur ethnic traditional sports culture.Some recommendations are thus made on these issues :1.The inheritance of Yugur traditional sports culture should take into account both forms and cultural roots.2.The significance of fitness should be developed in Yugur traditional sports.3.The development of ethnic traditional sports should adapt to the modernization process.
