After the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012,the socialist core values have been widely recognized by the society,and their basic content has been determined.The Ministry of Education officially incorporated the socialist core values into national education.The socialist core values are of great importance to cope with the great changes unseen in the world in a century,to achieve the goal of quality education in the new curriculum standard,and to promote the physical and mental development of students.As an important platform for the education of socialist core values,senior high school ideological and political education should continuously improve the teaching level and reform and improve teaching methods along with the emergence and development of socialist core values.As an open teaching method,the situational teaching method is particularly important in the improvement of the effectiveness of the socialist core values education.At the same time,the socialist core values and the situational teaching method are consistent in teaching objectives and teaching characteristics,which provides feasibility for the combination of socialist core values and situational teaching.This paper starts with the concept of situational teaching method and basic theoretical research and analysis,and analyzes the necessity and feasibility of socialist core values in the situational teaching of high school ideological and political courses,helping to connect students’ lives and improve students’ practical ability;to cultivate a good teacher-student relationship,Realize the goal of quality education.Through educational research activities such as questionnaires,teaching research and interviews,it is recognized that contextual teaching is effective in the education of socialist core values.However,there are also some challenges.For example,there is insufficient interest and resonance in learning in the contextual teaching of socialist core values.It is difficult for students to closely combine the theoretical knowledge they have learned with practical activities.In response to the above problems,high school teachers can solve problems from multiple aspects,change the role of teachers,be good at citing life situation materials,and promote teacher-student interaction to create situations to enhance the effectiveness of situational teaching methods in the core values of society.
