| With the deepening of the “new curriculum reform” in China,greater attention has been given to group learning.Group learning is a teaching method in which the teacher organizes and guides students to work in small groups as the basic unit for competitive learning activities.Previous studies have discussed more about the cooperation in group learning while less about competition and cooperation in group learning.Moreover,the study on the application of group learning in junior high school history teaching has yet to be elaborated.Therefore,combined with the teaching practice,the specific application of group learning in junior high school history teaching is elaborated,and specific teaching cases are designed to further explain the proposed strategies and operational procedures.Combined with the actual teaching practice,the interview method and observation method are adopted to investigate and analyze the current situation of the application of group learning in junior middle school history teaching.Through interviews with 16 educators and 60 students and 11 classroom observations,the problems existing in group learning in junior middle school history teaching were clarified.Although group learning is widely used in Feicheng,a county seat in Shandong province,there are still problems such as formalities,unreasonable division of work in groups,and single evaluation method for teachers.To address the problems of group learning in junior school history teaching,this paper put forward solutions from the two perspectives of teachers and students.Teachers should improve their own literacy,clarify their roles,and learn to organize and regulate groups scientifically.In addition,they should guide students to establish correct values;students should actively participate in group training activities and enhance their self-learning awareness,and actively participate in groups.Based on the actual practice and combined with operational procedures,further elaborations have been made.The first part is about preparations of group learning including the division of groups,training of group leaders,cultural construction of groups and design of learning guides.The second part talks about the instructional design of group learning with self-study,cooperative inquiry,presentation,expansion and improvement included.Then comes to the consolidation and evaluation of group learning.The last part focuses on the instructional design of lesson 19 “July 7th Incident and Total Resistance Against Japanese Aggression by the Whole Nation” in the first volume of history textbook of eighth grade in junior high school,as well as the construction of teaching content with the help of group learning.The research on the application of group learning in junior high school history teaching can not only reform the curriculum structure and promote the deepening of the “new curriculum reform” but also help both teachers and students change their roles and find their niches in teaching. |
