This paper is a special study of the Xi'an Incident in senior high school history textbooks.The author will discuss it from four parts.In the first part,to analyze and summarize the narratives of Xi'an Incident in Elephant edition,Yuelu edition,People's edition and People's Education Press edition of senior school history textbooks respectively.First,it describes the outbreak reasons of the Xi'an Incident.Secondly,it narrates the solving process of Xi'an Incident,and then to narrate the historical role of the Xi'an Incident.The second part mainly elaborates the latest achievements of the Xi'an Incident according to the reasons,the solving process and the historical role of the Xi'an Incident.The reasons are expounded from five aspects:Zhang Xueliang's personality and ideological changes,the contradiction and conflict between Chiang Kai-shek and Zhang Xueliang,the alliance between the Communist Party of China(CPC)and Zhang Xueliang,the role of the local powers of the Kuomintanfg and the anti-civil war soldiers,and the promotion of the national anti-Japanese and national salvation campaign.In the process of solving the problem,the author narrates how Chians Kai-shek.Sons Meiling,Sons Ziwen and Kong Xiangxi of the CPC.the Soviet Union,Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng,and the Kuomintang solved the Xi'an Incident.In the historical role,it is expounded from three aspects:from ending the ten-year civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party to boost the second cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party,promote the establishment ofthe anti-Japanese National United front,and sain the legitimate status of the CPC as the mainstay of the anti-Japanese war.The third part analyses the problems and suggestions of compiling senior high school history textbooks.This part first puts forward the problems in the narration of the Xi'an Incident in the textbook,then analyses the reasons for the compilation problems,and finally puts forward some suggestions for the compilation.In the elaboration of the compilation issue,it is still analyzed from three aspects:the outbreak cause of the Xi'an Incident,the solution process,and the historical role.In view of these problems,the author analyses the reasons for compilation problems from the complexit,limitation,lag,and result-oriented of the textbooks compilation.Finally,the author puts forward two suggestions on the problems existing in the textbooks.On the one hand,from the angle of textbook compilation,it can be divided into following aspects:paying active attention to academic trends,updating academic research results in time,emphasizing the process of historical inference,strengthening detailed description,arranging the compilation position of historical events reasonably,and attaching importance to the historical position of the Xi'an Incident in the compilation of textbooks.On the other hand,from the perspective of classroom teaching,it is proposed to cultivate teachers'critical and questioning spirit,improve the basic quality of history.combine the historical facts of textbooks,supplement materials to assist learning,select teaching historical materials,and correctly interpret historical materials.
