At this stage,China pays more and more attention to children’s movement development.Small basketball is deeply loved by the majority of children because of its certain interest and the formulation of corresponding rules.The basic form of small basketball is that the ball is dominated by the end of the body,and the movement goal is achieved through different forms of movement.Therefore,children’s ability to move and control objects can be developed at the same time.The research mainly uses the methods of mathematical statistics,interview and experiment to promote the role of small basketball in children’s gross movements.There were52 people in the experimental class and the control class,aged 7-8 years,and the duration of the experiment was 12 weeks.The control class and experimental class adopt routine teaching and small basketball intervention teaching respectively.Before the experiment,the body movement ability and the ability to control objects were tested.After the intervention experiment,the post-test was carried out,and the SPSS 20.0 software was used for comparative test.The post-test results showed that there were significant differences in body movement ability between the experimental class and the control class in single foot jumping(P = 0.011 < 0.05),jumping(P = 0.005 < 0.05),side sliding step(P = 0.042 < 0.05)and standing long jump(P = 0.008 < 0.05),but there was no significant difference in running(P = 0.39 >0.05).There were significant differences in body movement ability between the experimental class and the control class(P < 0.05).In terms of the ability to control foreign objects,there was no significant difference between the boys in the experimental class and the control class in the action of one hand clapping and hitting the rebound ball(P = 0.176 > 0.05),but there were significant differences in other actions after the experiment(P < 0.05).There were significant differences in the action scores of one handed in-situ dribbling(P = 0.01 < 0.05),two handed receiving(P = 0.042 < 0.05),lower hand pitching(P = 0.044 < 0.05)and shoulder pitching(P = 0.005 < 0.05)between the experimental class and the control class(P = 0.05).There was no significant difference in the scores of one hand beating the rebound ball and two hand swinging the stick hitting the fixed ball(P > 0.05).Conclusions:(1)small basketball can improve the level of gross movement more than conventional courses;(3)After the intervention of small basketball in the experimental class and the control class,the performance of body movement ability and object control ability in the experimental class increased more significantly;(3)There is a positive correlation between the improvement of students’ interest and attention and the establishment of self-confidence;The research suggests(1)increasing colorful sports;(2)Apply gross movements to the course;(3)Pay attention to children’s safety in teaching.
