Research On The Internal Mechanism And Effect Of China’s Foreign Labor Export On Import And Export Trade

Labor mobility is the third important aspect of promoting economic globalization after commodity mobility and capital mobility.A large number of foreign labor exports have increased the flexibility of the international labor market,which in turn will further promote the growth of international trade.Therefore,exploring the impact of China’s foreign labor export on import and export trade has great enlightenment for the further expansion of China’s import and export trade scale and the policy development of foreign labor export.Firstly,using the existing theories and studies,this paper expounds the mechanism of foreign labor export on import and export trade from the aspects of factor flow effect,external economies of scale effect and trade cost effect.Then,combined with relevant data,this paper analyzes the development and evolution characteristics of China’s foreign labor export and import and export trade since 2001.Finally,based on the investigation of the internal mechanism of the impact of foreign labor export on import and export trade,taking the panel data of 69 countries(regions)from 2001 to 2020 as samples,this paper empirically tests the impact of foreign labor export on import and export trade by using fixed effect model and two-stage least square method(2SLS).Through the heterogeneity test,we investigate whether the regression results of different samples have the same impact utility.The results show that: firstly,based on the benchmark regression results,foreign labor export plays a significant positive role in promoting the total scale of China’s import and export trade,export trade and import trade.Secondly,based on the heterogeneity test,69 countries(regions)are divided into multiple sub samples.From the test results of geographical heterogeneity,China’s foreign labor export plays a positive role in expanding the total scale of bilateral trade and export trade of countries(regions)except Africa.For the African region,the impact of China’s foreign labor export on import and export trade shows a significant negative relationship.From the heterogeneity test results of development degree,China’s foreign labor export has promoted the expansion of the total scale of import and export trade,export trade and import trade in both developed and developing countries,and the group of developing countries shows a greater positive effect.From the time heterogeneity test results,China’s foreign labor export in 2001-2009(phase I),2010-2016(phase II)and 2017-2020(phase III)has played a positive role in promoting the total scale of import and export trade and import trade,while the foreign labor export in phase I and phase II has a significant positive relationship with export trade.This paper not only provides direct empirical evidence for an in-depth understanding of the heterogeneous effect of China’s foreign labor export on import and export trade,but also provides an important decision-making basis for deeply promoting the national foreign labor development strategy,especially the possible adjustment and reform direction.
