| Women’s media image has always been a key research topic in the field of journalism and communication in China.With the improvement of women’s participation in social affairs,women’s image has been paid more and more attention in media reports.In January,2020,after the full outbreak of COVID-19,the whole society will work together to restore normal social order as soon as possible.Women in the background of the epidemic show their unique feminine style.They are brave,resolute,warm and delicate,and play a role in their respective fields.Therefore,the anti-epidemic women represented by medical staff have also received high attention from the media.Through the research,it is found that the two media can actively and intensively report the anti-epidemic women,and use a lot of space to show their work status and affirm their social contributions.It presents a multi front,multi field and multi-level women’s image,and highlights the responsibilities and responsibilities of women in the national crisis.And flexible use of a variety of reporting genres,oral records and diary style of expression is more infectious.Compared with the previous reports of heroes,the media used a large number of life fragments to portray the multi-dimensional women’s roles in shaping the image of anti-epidemic women.Through the analysis of the content of the report and this article,it is found thatThe mass media undoubtedly plays an important role in shaping and influencing the image of women.What kind of anti-epidemic women’s image does the media present at the critical moment when the whole society is fighting against the epidemic?What are the characteristics of the media’s presentation of anti-epidemic women?Based on this problem,this paper selects two media,the People’s Daily,the representative of the party newspaper,and the Southern Metropolis Daily,the representative of the Metropolis Daily,as the research object.It uses content analysis and text analysis to summarize the presentation and characteristics of the anti-epidemic women’s image in the epidemic report,which will be the focus of this paper.due to the different media positioning and audience range,the two media also present slightly different images of anti-epidemic women.The People’s Daily puts the anti-epidemic women in the official propaganda context to create a nationwide anti-epidemic atmosphere of unity.The Southern Metropolis Daily focuses on the local anti-epidemic women,and its reporting style is more life-oriented,with the premise of serving local citizens.However,on the whole,the two media have a certain convergence in topic setting,image building and discourse characteristics,reflecting the public opinion guiding role played by the mainstream media during the epidemic period and achieving positive value guidance.Finally,from the perspective of improving women’s news reports,this paper puts forward optimization suggestions for anti-epidemic women’s reports in the aspects of balanced reporting perspective and strengthening appeal and attention.The reports on anti-epidemic women show the social value and good quality of women,and can promote the renewal and shaping of positive women’s media images.The research on anti-epidemic women in epidemic reports has both theoretical value and practical significance.It can not only enrich the research on women’s media image,improve the media’s news reports on women,but also enable public to see different women’s power,improve the stereotype of the society that women value their family over their career,cultivate the audience’s correct understanding of women in the new era,enhance the career influence of professional women such as female medical staff,promote the spread of feminism,and gradually improve women’s social situation. |
