Research On Social Work Service For Families With Disabled Children From The Perspective Of Family Resilience

With the amendment of the Law on the Protection of Persons with Disabilities,the welfare protection policy for children with disabilities has been gradually improved.Influenced by the idea of "family orientation",family is still the main living environment for disabled children,and parents are the main body of disabled children’s care and upbringing.Children with disabilities have a great impact on families,and many families are often unable to cope with these problems,resulting in family disintegration.Family resilience plays an important role in how family members cope with these crises.From the perspective of resilience of families with disabled children,this study explores the performance of family resilience in different families.One family of maladjusted disabled children was selected according to the level of resilience and performance,utilizing the method of social case work to improve the ability of the whole family to cope with crisis.This research mainly adopting participatory observation method and interview method,interviewed eight caregivers of disabled children to explore the performance of family resilience from family belief system,family organization mode and family communication process.In addition,based on interview data,this study carried out case work services to a family with obvious needs.The contents of the service include that social worker correct the irrational attribution of the clients to the condition and reshape the belief system of the families of disabled children,change the bad way of communication and interaction between family members,adjust family conflicts,clarify family roles,restructure family division of labor,and build social support networks.According to the measurement of resilience measurement scale and the realization of the family function reported by the client,the case services are effective in improving the resilience of families with disabled children.Based on interviews and case services,it is concluded that 8 families show different adaptive states in family belief system,family organization mode and family communication process,and each family shows certain characteristics of resilience.For families with low levels of resilience,the intervention of families with disabled children from three aspects of family belief system,family organization model and family communication process based on the theory of advantage perspective is beneficial to improve the ability of families to cope with risks and promote the stable development of families.
