| At present,interpersonal trust is one of the most concerned focuses of scholars in the field of interpersonal communication.It is an important index to measure contemporary people’s mental health and interpersonal adaptation.As a special and stable personality trait,shyness affects the individual’s mental development level and interpersonal adaptation ability to a great extent.Therefore,this study intends to explore the impact of College Students’ shyness on their interpersonal trust,and explore the mechanism of shyness on interpersonal trust through the intermediary role of defensive pessimism and self-worth.Through the literature at home and abroad,this thesis combs the correlation between shyness,defensive pessimism,self-worth and interpersonal trust,and puts forward the idea of this study.404 college students were tested with college students’ Shyness Scale,defensive pessimism scale for college students in social situations,adolescent self-worth scale and trust scale.After data collection and sorting,the software SPSS and process V3 were used 4 analysis,explore the influence mechanism of shyness on interpersonal trust,and establish a chain mediation model to explore the chain mediation role of defensive pessimism and self-worth between shyness and interpersonal trust.The results are as follows:(1)There are significant differences in the overall score of College Students’ sense of self-worth in different gender and family location.The score of girls is significantly higher than that of boys,and that of urban students is significantly higher than that of rural students;The overall score of College Students’ interpersonal trust has significant differences in family location,which shows that urban students are significantly higher than rural students.(2)There is a significant negative correlation between shyness,self-worth and interpersonal trust,and a significant positive correlation between shyness and defensive pessimism;Defensive pessimism has a significant negative correlation with self-worth and interpersonal trust;There is a significant positive correlation between Self-worth and interpersonal trust.(3)College Students’ shyness can directly predict interpersonal trust,and it can also affect interpersonal trust through two indirect paths: defensive pessimism and self-worth,and defensive pessimism and self-worth.The chain mediation effect accounts for 23.37% of the total effect.Based on the research results,the following conclusions are drawn: College Students’ shyness,defensive pessimism,self-worth and interpersonal trust are correlated,and college students’ shyness can directly affect interpersonal trust,or affect the level of individual interpersonal trust through the chain intermediary of defensive pessimism and self-worth. |
