Seeking for a sense of trust to others and an overall sense of security has been considered to be the core motivation of human social interaction. Along with the rapid development of computer network and the communicative technology, the Internet is extending to every level and every field at a very fast speed. In the network society, how to trust others? Under conditions of virtual technology, how to establish the respective relationship through the mutual interaction and exchange? A series of problems as this need us to answer. While the college students have become the main people on-line, the web interpersonal trust of college students have received people's attention. The research carries on the investigation to 308 college students by the use of the questionnaire survey method. The questionnaires include the questionnaires of the usage of the network of college students, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, Interpersonal Trust Scale and so on. This research tries to explore the present situation and characteristics of college students' interpersonal trust and web interpersonal trust, and the relationship between them. The results show:1. Comparatively speaking, the level of college students' interpersonal trust is low, but the level of college students' web interpersonal trust is high.2. College students' web interpersonal trust related positively to college students' interpersonal trust.3. The frequency score of college students' web interpersonal trust and interpersonal trust both assume normal distribution. It can explain that a certain extent of interpersonal trust exists in college students' online communication.4. Their abnormal activities can not have influence on college students' web interpersonal trust. But along with the surfer time's growth; the scores of interpersonal trust assume a reduced tendency.5. There are no differences in gender, major and grade of college students' web interpersonal trust. There are great differences in grade and major of college students' interpersonal trust.6. Correlation analysis shows: college students' web interpersonal trust related positively to introversion-extroversion; interpersonal trust related positively to introversion-extroversion and neuroticism.7. The higher group of web interpersonal trust level got higher scores than that lower group in introversion-extroversion. The scores of higher group of interpersonal trust level in neuroticism was higher than the lower group.
