“The Chinese National Mental Health Development Report(2019-2020)”pointed out that in the social groups,“Anxiety has become a relatively common mental health phenomenon among all social groups, children’s educational anxiety has also become a common group psychological state among parents in the current society.Under the influence of the new educational policies and the traditional family concept, the educational anxiety of Chinese parents presents a complicated situation, and the mechanism of its generation and enhancement is influenced by the social environment and personal characteristics.Education is one of the main driving forces for the sustainable development of our country, and it is also an important link to maintain the stability of family and society. While school education has assumed the function of social resources distribution and has become the“Battlefield” of competition,as a special subject of education, parents’ educational tasks for their children have also increasingly taken on the task of “Supporting the battlefield” of school education, parents have no choice but to embark on an unprecedented “Chick” road. The question of this study is,what is the psychological mechanism for parents’ anxiety?Based on the existing research, this paper proposes the hypothesis that parents’ identity of“Being a good parent” leads to parents’ educational anxiety, and develops measurement tools and collects data, this paper attempts to explore the concept, performance and psychological mechanism of the influence of parents’ identity on their children’s educational anxiety.Through the data analysis, this study draws the following conclusions:(1)there is a significant correlation between parents’ identity and their children’s educational anxiety.(2)when parents have a high sense of responsibility, their children’s educational anxiety is generally on the high side regardless of their ability, and when parents have a low sense of responsibility, their children’s educational anxiety is on the low side regardless of their ability.(3)social comparison sensitivity plays a mediating role in the influence of parents’ identity on their children’s educational anxiety.(4)the sensitivity of subjective social status to social comparison plays a moderating role in the mediating effect of parents’ identity on their children’s educational anxiety.(5)parents’ gender, educational background, monthly income, main access to information and the ratio of children’s education expenditure to family’s total income have significant influence on their children’s educational anxiety. In addition, this study proposes the concept of “Identity task” based on existing research and literature reading. This study suggests that parents’ educational anxiety comes from the sense of “Identity task” brought about by their parents’ identity, and the strength of this sense comes from the sensitivity of parents’ academic achievement to others as a dimension of social comparison. Therefore, this paper proposes a task-comparison-anxiety model of identity.
