As the "mysterious backstage" of kindergarten teachers’ life, the workspace reveals the true life style during it,which can not only make up for the lack of due attention in educational practice and research, but also facilitate the exploration of the possible impact of the special setting of this space on the role and behavior of kindergarten teachers. This study selected the workspace of Q class teachers in X Kindergarten as the research object.Through nearly three months of field research, the overall living style of the workspace of the teachers in this class was revealed.During this process, the researchers constantly observed the role presentation behavior of the teachers in this class. Finally,on the basis of describing the actual scene, they attempted to answer the question of "why does the workspace of kindergarten teachers affect the role presentation of teachers".This study takes the teacher’s workspace as the research field, takes the Dramaturgical Theory as the theoretical basis, and explores the relationship between space and roles as the ultimate goal. The main conclusions drawn are as follows:Firstly, life in the workspace of kindergarten teachers is not in an uncontaminated "vacuum",and teachers must take the pre-planned and specific space, time, and roles of backstage as the action background,The regulations of X Kindergarten on such background elements have the characteristics of ambiguity and complexity, which poses certain challenges to the role presentation behavior of Q class teachers.Secondly, the workspace life of kindergarten teachers presents two types:"normal" and "abnormal".In normal life, teachers only play a pure backstage role in the workspace, carrying out a variety of backstage affairs and showcasing backstage interactions that showcase drama class cooperation. They usually experience the time rhythm of "cutting corners" and the spatial feeling of "tossing and turning";In unconventional life, teachers cannot present their roles according to the original situational definitions of "workspace" and "teaching area",resulting in a disorderly transition between front-end and back-end roles. This is manifested in the back-end life being occupied by the front-end and expanding to the back-end life. This type of life actually indicates that Q class teachers are in a dilemma ofrole presentation.Thirdly, the reason why workspace affects the presentation of teacher roles lies not only in the surface factor of the disappearance of the "physical boundaries" of workspace, but also in some deeper factors that need to be revealed, namely the idealism of space planners and the survival methods of space actors, which further dissolve the "meaning boundaries" and "role boundaries" of workspace. Therefore,in order to help teachers overcome the dilemma of role presentation, kindergarten managers should strive to promote the design of teacher roles from "conflict between front and back platforms" to "harmony between front and back platforms".As actors, teachers should strive to establish their own role-playing based on the unity of "role commitment" and "role attachment".
