Virtual reality technology(VR)is a cutting-edge technology in the field of contemporary computing and has been widely used in education,entertainment,medicine,military and aviation,etc.Its continuous development has also had a positive impact on modern physical education.In the context of the complexity of educational information,a new "VR+teaching" teaching model should be actively explored,using new technologies to help educational reform,improve teaching quality and effectively enhance the effectiveness of classroom teaching.In this study,we take breaststroke as an example and try to apply VR technology in children’s swimming classroom.Students get an immersive learning experience through VR equipment,deepen their understanding of the technical movements of breaststroke,and discuss the effect and feasibility of its application,providing a theoretical basis and practical reference for its implementation in children’s swimming teaching.This study first selected 32 children as research objects,according to various indicators into VR teaching group 16 students and traditional teaching group 16 students.Then,with the theoretical support of cognitivism theory,constructivism theory and immersion theory,VR technology is applied to breaststroke teaching by using literature method,psychometric method,experimental method,testing method,mathematical analysis method and logical analysis method.Finally,combined with the teaching design,the physical fitness,learning interest and motor skills test data of the VR teaching group and the traditional teaching group before and after learning were compared and analyzed to further verify the effectiveness of VR technology applied to breaststroke teaching.The main research results of this paper are as follows(1)Applying virtual reality technology to breaststroke teaching makes students get rid of the boring traditional teaching mode,can quickly enter the learning state,and fully mobilize students’ enthusiasm for learning.Meanwhile,the application of VR technology can effectively improve the students’ fear of water,and after alleviating the fear of water,the students can quickly grasp the action elements in the learning process,which promotes the diversification of breaststroke teaching.In addition,it also promotes the further integration of VR technology and physical education in the new era.(2)Through the analysis of the experimental data,it can be seen that the VR technology-assisted breaststroke teaching has been well received,and the students Not only gained an interesting learning experience,but also deepened their understanding and memory of the breaststroke movements,and the learning Process was interesting and impressive.(3)The breaststroke scores and skill ratings of both the VR teaching group and the traditional teaching group showed some improvement relative to the Pre-experimental Period,and the mean scores of the VR teaching group were significantly higher than those of the traditional teaching group.Which further demonstrates that adding VR technology to the traditional teaching can effectively improve the teaching quality.In summary,virtual reality technology provides a new environment for the education of breaststroke,which can mobilize students’ enthusiasm and cultivate their sense of innovation at the same time,and injects new power into the traditional breaststroke teaching reform.In the future work,VR technology is believed to be an effective and feasible tool to improve the quality of breaststroke teaching.
