| Mathematics is a highly abstract and logical discipline, and the mistakes of math have always been regarded as important resources for learning.Through the analysis and utilization of mistakes, students can improve their mathematical knowledge structure and increase their learning efficiency. The primary school stage is a critical period for cultivating students’ good habits of error management and mastering effective methods of error management.Students in the middle and upper stages of primary school have gradually developed the awareness of error management and the basic ability to carry it out. Therefore, this study conducted a survey on the current situation of mathematics error management in the middle and upper grades of primary school, and proposed an optimization strategy for mathematics error management in the middle and upper stages of primary school based on subject structure theory to address the existing problems. The research conducted a survey from two aspects: students and teachers, using the methods of questionnaire survey, physical analysis, and interview survey. The survey found that there were still some problems with the students in the mid dle and upper stages of primary school, such as weak awareness of error management, lack of initiative, disorderly organization of math errors, lack of structured logic, incomplete functions of the error books, lack of in-depth analysis and reflection of math errors, and lack of systematic management process for error management. For teachers, some teachers did not attach enough importance to error management, and there was a lack of reasonable direction and strategies for error management.Teachers lacked supervision and evaluation of students’ error management. The research believes that the reason for these problems lies in the insufficient understanding of students’ error management, the lack of motivation to carry it out,and the inability to scientifi cally deal with mathematical mistakes. Moreover, teachers’ heavy workload leads to a lack of time for error management, and their lack of experience results in a lack of strategies for error management. The most significant problem with error management is that teachers lack the exploration of subject structure, cannot grasp the core goal of error management, and cannot effectively guide students to master the knowledge structure of mathematics through mathematical error management. In response to the current problems of mathematics error management in the middle and upper stages of primary school, especially the problem that students cannot effectively master the knowledge structure of mathematics through error management, the research proposes an optimization strategy for mathematics error management in the middle and upper stages of primary school based on subject structure theory. As mathematics is a discipline with high logicality, the knowledge structure of the subject plays a crucial role.Sorting and utilizing mathematical mistakes based on the knowledge structure of mathematics can help students master the knowledge structure of mathematics. Therefore, the research believes that teachers should adhere to the guidance of error management with the core of subject structure understanding, clarify the process of error management, create a teacher’s mistakes archive, establish a continuous error management supervision and evaluation mechanism;students also need to create a student’s mistakes archive, rely on the mathematical mistakes archive to master the knowledge structure of mathematics, standardize the behavior of error management, and develop an error management plan.Schools should create a favorable environment for error management, provide a platform for teachers to exchange and learn error management, and give teachers sufficient time to guide and carry out error management. |
