China currently has more than 85 million people with disabilities,accounting for about 6.02% of the total population,and the number of young people with disabilities is increasing significantly.Although China has done a lot of work in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the disabled and providing them with education,medical care,employment and social security,it can only solve some of the basic problems.What we really need to do is not only to promote their physical rehabilitation,but also to improve their psychological problems,so as to achieve comprehensive rehabilitation and development of physical and mental health.Compared with other groups of people with disabilities,young people with disabilities face more problems.As young people with disabilities are in the critical period of forming world view,life view and value,their physical and mental development is not yet mature,coupled with their physical defects,they are prone to a series of psychological problems such as depression,anxiety,low self-esteem,paranoia,fear,etc.The degree of their psychological disorders and the incidence of psychopathy are generally higher than other groups of people.Because of the differences in their living environment,religious beliefs and habits,young people with disabilities from ethnic minorities are more likely to have more psychological problems,which should be paid more attention by the society.In this study,a Hui youth with disabilities from a non-minority area was selected as the study subject.Firstly,we understand the basic information of the service recipient and the manifestation of psychological problems through the interview method and observation method,explore the influencing factors of the service recipient’s psychological problems,and formulate the service objectives and design the service plan according to the needs of the service recipient.Secondly,we use rational emotion therapy to explore the practice of psychological problems of service users,help service users identify the bad cognition and find out where the problems are;argue the bad cognition and construct rational cognition;consolidate the learning results and form rational thinking.Finally,the effectiveness of the intervention was evaluated through the evaluation of the service process and the service results,and a summary and professional reflection of the service was made.The study showed that the psychological problems of the Hui youth with disabilities were improved after the intervention with rational emotion therapy and the casework method.Through the service,the Hui youth with disabilities corrected their irrational beliefs,established good self-perceptions,changed their attitudes,and regained a healthy state of mind.
