Because of the rapid change of internal relationship in single-parent family, children may suffer from severe mental disorder. Due to parents divorcing, teenagers might feel helpless and think themselves different from other peers, and often be anxious and worried about household affairs. The imperfect families cause huge psychic trauma to teenagers and directly influence their mentality and emotion. They can hardly withstand the pain, torment and depression from single-parent family. As teenagers are in the rebellious period, this is easy to bring deviations in behaviors. The imperfect family and indifferent kinship bring them serious inferiority. They are psychological vulnerability, unsociable, lack of the passion and vitality of age-matched children. As we know, the phenomenon of teenagers running away from home and committing illegal criminal activity increased day by day, one of the most important reasons was parents’separation and family breakdown.Nowadays, with divorce rates rising, the quantity of single-parent family teenagers is expanding gradually. This dissertation bases on cases from H community in A city and chose one typical single-parent family teenager as research client. The dissertation learns his problems and puzzles by questionnaire and depth interview, and helps him correctly understand and face the actual situation of his own family through professional social work intervention methods, like casework. Meanwhile, the dissertation helps his guardian continuously improve ways of education and communication. Moreover, the author also helps him strengthen ties with family, community and school, perfect personality gradually, foster a correct outlook on the world, life and values, and cultivate positive perspective. Through the casework, the client comes to realize his own problems, convert minds and solve psychological disorders step by step. The parent reflects and changes ways of education and communication.The research takes one typical single-parent family teenager as research client. With psychological intervention and professional social work method, the research effectively reliefs his mental problems. Sensitivity and unbelieving fade away and he became more confident than before. Moreover, he helped his mother share the burden of the family through self-support study and gradually get rid of network addiction and other issues.
