Physical education and health education are important ways to achieve the comprehensive development of children and adolescents, and have far-reaching significance in promoting students’ participation in sports, cultivating healthy lifestyles, and improving personality traits.Rope skipping is a traditional sports activity in China, and it is also a new sport in the new curriculum. In daily physical education training, the commonly used training methods are timed rope skipping and count rope skipping, with few instruments used for rope skipping practice.Using the rhythm of background music as a teaching method for rope skipping training can enhance students’ interest in participating in sports activities and experience the joy of rope skipping. This experiment will use background music rhythm training methods to conduct experimental research on the teaching effect of single swing rope skipping for primary school students, providing new ideas for single swing rope skipping training for primary school students. This paper mainly adopts the methods of literature review, expert interviews, questionnaires, experiments, mathematical statistics, and logical analysis to explore the impact of background music rhythm training methods on the learning effect of single swing rope skipping for primary school students. The study selected 82 level one students from the Shijia laboratory school in Dongcheng District of Beijing as the experimental subjects,41 students in the experimental group and 41 students in the control group. The two groups were trained for 8 weeks. The control group received routine training methods for timed skipping or counting skipping, while the experimental group received intervention training using background music rhythm.Research results:1.After analyzing the test indicators of the experimental group and the control group, including the number of rope skipping in one minute, the number of rope skipping errors in one minute, vertical jumping in place, and three consecutive levels of frog jumping,it can be concluded that P>0.05 meets the experimental requirements and can be used for in-depth comparative analysis. After conducting an eight week comparative experiment, the experimental group and the control group retested the four test indicators, and after the experiment,P<0.05,indicating a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group.2.After receiving music rhythm training, the experimental group’s average performance in one minute rope skipping increased by 11,the number of rope skipping errors in one minute decreased by an average of 1,the average performance in standing vertical jump reaching high increased by 0.059 meters, and the average performance in consecutive three level frog jumps increased by 0.408 meters.3.After using conventional training methods in the control group, there was no significant change in the number of skipping ropes in one minute and the number of skipping rope errors in one minute. The average score of standing vertical jump touching high increased by 0.023 meters, and the average score of consecutive three level frog jumps increased by 0.11 meters.Research conclusion:1.Training skipping rope through music rhythm training method can improve the level of primary school students’ skipping rope in one minute, the number of skipping rope errors in one minute, vertical jumping in place, and continuous triple jump, proving that this training program is significantly helpful for improving the performance of primary school students’ single swing skipping rope.2.Compared with the training methods of timing and counting in regular physical education classes, the method of using background music rhythm training has a higher level of classroom participation for students, which can stimulate their interest in sports training and improve their level of single jump rope. The latter has no significant effect on their interest in learning single jump rope.
