A Study On Children’s Listening Behavior In Middle Class Literature Activities

According to the statistics of W.M.ives and M.S.Temperly,American experts on foreign language teaching method,75% of the information people get in daily communication comes from listening and speaking,45% from listening,30% from speaking,and only 25% from reading and writing.Listening ranks first among all language activities.According to statistics,people spend about half of their time in listening.Listening is one of the main ways for people to acquire knowledge.The cultivation of good listening behavior in early childhood will lay the foundation for the lifelong development of children.Good listening behavior is the premise and basic guarantee for the development of children’s listening ability and language ability,as well as the first prerequisite for acquiring knowledge.It will not only promote children’s social development,but also benefit them throughout their life.Middle class children on the basis of small class,has obtained a certain ability to develop,at the same time,middle class is a key period of children’s habits,but also for the large class young and small connection to prepare for the period,so middle class is a very important period of children’s listening behavior development,play a link between the previous and the next role,has very important research significance.Through observation and research on 108 children in the middle class,this study conducted in-depth interviews with 6 teachers in the kindergarten,understood the real situation of children’s listening behavior in the current literary activities in the middle class,deeply analyzed the causes of children’s good and bad listening behavior,and put forward scientific suggestions according to the actual situation.The results show that the children’s bad listening behavior accounts for a large proportion in the current middle school literature activities.In the "facial reaction" of listening behavior,children’s looking around occurs most frequently.In the "behavior performance" of listening behavior,children showed more poor self-control;In "body orientation",children can basically face the speaker and present good listening behavior.At the same time,in the distribution of activity types,most of the bad listening behaviors were in story activities,and there was a large gap between the occurrence frequency of good and bad listening behaviors in ancient poetry activities.In addition,there are significant differences between children’s gender and their listening behavior distribution,and there are also significant differences between teachers under different teaching ages and children’s listening behavior.According to the observation results and the interview content,the researchers analyzed the causes from the three aspects of children themselves,teachers and external factors,and found that the main influencing factors are: poor self-control,strong desire to show,limited understanding ability of children;Teachers have different educational concepts,lack of educational wisdom,and lack of activity content design;Peer factors,family factors and garden factors.At the same time,through the analysis of the researchers’ observation results and influencing factors,from the three aspects of teachers,kindergartens and parents,the optimization of children’s listening behavior in literary activities are put forward.First of all,teachers: realize the importance of listening to children,change the concept of education;Teachers improve teaching ability and expand teaching methods;Reasonable design of activity content,so that children can actively listen.Kindergarten: attach importance to the sharing of experience among teachers;Create a "small classroom for parents" platform.Parents: attach importance to the cultivation of children’s good listening behavior;In daily life for children to tell stories,do listening and speaking activities.
