The introduction of the Curriculum Standards of Physical Education and Health for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)has included the cultivation of the core quality of physical education into the learning stage of compulsory education.In order to achieve the purpose of cultivating students’ core quality of physical education,the physical education teachers in each school began to carry out various physical education programs according to the characteristics of different programs.Understanding teaching method is an effective teaching method to realize the trinity of sports ability,health behavior and core morality of students.Therefore,this study takes the basketball project as an example,adopts the research methods such as literature data method and teaching experiment method,randomly selects two classes of students in Grade two of Jinan No.20 Middle School as experimental objects,and divides them into 42 students who use the grasping teaching method as experimental class and 41 students who use the traditional teaching method as control class.The12-week teaching experiment is carried out on them.The practical application of comprehending teaching method in basketball teaching is discussed,and the following conclusions are drawn through experiments:1.The teaching method highlights the generation of "gamification" organizational form in teaching practice.Compared with the traditional teaching method,students can actively fight,run back and jump in the competition,ensure the intensity and density of classroom exercises,and promote the effective improvement of students’ speed,strength and special endurance.2.Grasp the teaching method through the teaching mode of "whole-decomposition-whole",to better stimulate students’ interest in basketball learning.Compared with the traditional teaching method,the experimental class using the comprehension teaching method has better performance than the control class in the four indexes of "basketball value and culture","basketball technique and tactics","basketball rules" and "overall cognition level of basketball".3.Comprehension teaching method can promote students’ integration of "technology,ability and cognition".Compared with the traditional teaching method,the teaching method starts from the whole of basketball and focuses on enhancing students’ technical ability,tactical awareness,teamwork and emotional resonance.It not only effectively improves students’ technical level of basketball,but also improves students’ performance in basketball games,and is obviously better than the control class in "making the right decision","skill execution","support" and "competition ability".4.The teaching method emphasizes the cultivation of students’ active participation in sports habits in teaching,and effectively promotes the achievement of students’ core accomplishment of physical education.
