| Teaching design aims to improve the learning effect of students,and carry out corresponding design around the current cognitive level of students,so as to reduce the difference between the teaching objectives and the current level of students.In order to implement the core competencies and values of physics,unit teaching design can connect the knowledge chain of the whole unit and improve the learning efficiency of students.Among them,the "Understanding by Design" unit teaching design mode(abbreviated as UbD)sets the last link which in the traditional teaching design is evaluation before the teaching activities,thus the students’ learning is guided by the teaching purposes rather than the activities,so that they can participate in the activities better and achieve the goals.Therefore,based on the UbD theory,this study explores how to determine the unit objectives,design evaluation scales and plan teaching activities,as well as develops a process framework for unit teaching design according to the UBD theory.Based on the reverse design of the UbD theory,this study establishes the unit teaching objectives by the ABCD teaching objective description method according to the Mager model firstly.Then,combining the specific learning situation of junior high school students and the learning characteristics of physics,the evaluation scales are designed with the Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational objectives.After that,according to Gagne’s information processing theory,combined with teaching objectives and evaluation scales,teaching activities are planed appropriately.Finally,the design process is combed to form the unit teaching design mode framework and template based on the UbD theory.In this study,two classes with similar learning ability in science were selected from Grade Eight of Y junior high school in Shanghai to conduct physics teaching for three weeks.The unit teaching design under this framework is adopted in the experimental class,while the traditional class period teaching is adopted in the control class.Finally,two classes are tested by the same unit test paper,and SPSS26.0software is used to analyze the data.The conclusions are as follows:Firstly,the reverse design based on the UbD theory of "starting from the end" is more maneuverable for the students to achieve the expected learning goals through a highly operational evaluation system and activities closely related to the goals and evaluations.Secondly,the teaching mode of this study has achieved remarkable results in training the excellent and helping the weak,as well as has advantages in cultivating the physical mind of girls.Thirdly,the unit teaching design based on UbD has a certain effect on improving students’ competencies and values of physics. |
