Helping behavior is not only an important manifestation of children’s prosocial behavior,but also a symbol of children’s social development.The development of children’s helping behavior is of great value not only to the development of the whole society,but also to the growth of children.The purpose of helping behavior education in kindergarten is to promote children to form a good habit of actively helping others with positive helping emotion on the basis of their life experience.However,some kindergartens fail to achieve the goal of helping others education because the content of helping others education always taught by single educational mode and lack of integration and systematicness.However,the theme picture book has systematical content and its value of helping education can be displayed through various forms of teaching,so as to promote the development of children’s helping behavior.Therefore,this study will help people theme picture book as the carrier of kindergarten to carry out help education,design appropriate theme picture book intervention program,construct feasible teaching activities,in order to provide reference for the practice of kindergarten help education.This research chooses two parallel middle class children which from a public kindergarten in Zigong City as the intervention object.First of all,the pretest of helping situation was carried out respectively.We can tell that there is no striking difference in helping behavior between the two classes from the pretest results.Later,the two classes were divided into two groups for picture book intervention experiment randomly.Secondly,according to the current situation of children’s helping level through observation and interview,four picture book intervention themes are determined,including helping consciousness,helping emotion,helping strategy and helping expression,and corresponding intervention activities are designed for four different themes.In the process of experimental intervention,12 theme picture book were showed in the experimental group,and each intervention lasted about 30 minutes.The experimental group and another group were accepted the similar help situation test after the picture book intervention.The test results manifested that there were obvious differences in help behavior between the two groups.Meanwhile,we had interviews with the teachers and parents who of the experimental group about the topic that changes of children’s helping behavior.Then we analyzed and evaluated the experimental group’s development results of their helping behavior.At last,the results reveal that the level of helping behavior of the experimental group is evidently better than the control group’s level,that is,the thematic picture book intervention can effectively promote the development of helping behavior of middle class children.To this end,this study from the kindergarten,teachers,parents three aspects respectively put forward the relevant strategies to promote the development of middle class children’s helping behavior: 1.Create a good helping picture book teaching atmosphere,to achieve home education;2.Expand the theme picture book teaching quality,enhance the effectiveness of teaching;3.Pay attention to parent-child reading,strengthen the demonstration guidance.
