At present,the new round of curriculum reform in basic education in China,the further deepening of the construction of the teaching force,the professionalization of the teaching force and the improvement of the overall quality of students,the study of student competence and teacher competence are of great practical significance in theory and practice.The General High School Chemistry Curriculum Standards 2017(Revised 2020)clearly states that the subject of chemistry has a special value for students’ future scientific development outlook and requires teachers to strengthen the cultivation of students’ core literacy in the subject.Chemistry experiments are an indispensable part of chemistry teaching.Chemistry experimental ability mainly includes: basic experimental ability,experimental design ability,experimental operation ability and experimental teaching ability,etc.At present,the research on the experimental teaching ability of chemistry teachers and teacher trainees is more mature,but there are relatively few studies on the experimental design ability of teachers.How to define the experimental design competence of secondary school chemistry teachers? How to evaluate secondary school teachers’ experimental design competence? What are the evaluation indicators and specific contents? How to quantify these indicators? Based on the above questions,this study identifies the topic of "qualitative research on secondary school chemistry teachers’ experimental design ability based on NVivo",aiming to enrich and expand the theoretical research on secondary school chemistry teachers’ experimental design ability,help teachers reflect on and improve their own experimental ability,and provide a reference for researchers to carry out an evaluation system on secondary school chemistry teachers’ experimental design ability.This study first investigated the current situation of the experimental design ability of front-line teachers of secondary school chemistry in fifteen provinces;then,based on the results of the survey,the elements and index points of the experimental design ability were sorted out,and the task list for measuring the experimental design ability of secondary school teachers was designed and produced;secondly,the research methods of literature research,questionnaires,interviews and statistical analysis were used,and the NVivo12 qualitative software was used to evaluate the experimental design ability of secondary school teachers in Jinniu District,Chengdu,Sichuan Province.Secondly,we used the literature research method and interview method to identify and code the experiment design task sheets completed by first-line secondary school chemistry teachers in Jinniu District,Chengdu City,Sichuan Province in the categories of comprehensive improvement,inquiry,and new ideas,and obtained visualization and analysis results;finally,we summarized and analyzed the experiment design ability of secondary school teachers,and provided a reference basis for teachers’ own reflection on their own experiment design ability,so as to promote the improvement of the experiment design ability of first-line teachers,and then promote the the improvement of all chemistry teachers’ experimental design ability.This study consists of the following parts,the main contents of which are as follows.The first part is the introduction.It mainly describes the research background,significance,research content,ideas and methods of this paper.The second part is the theoretical studies.It mainly discusses chemical experiment design,the definition of chemical experiment design ability and the relevant theories that this study draws on.The third part is a survey on the current status of secondary school chemistry teachers’ experimental design ability.A questionnaire was designed to understand the status and problems of secondary school chemistry teachers’ experimental design ability at this stage.The fourth part was to design an instrument for measuring the experimental design ability of secondary school chemistry teachers.It mainly includes the determination of the assessment indexes,the design of the experimental design task sheet according to the assessment indexes,and then the practical application.The fifth part is the selection and design of the research instrument.This part focuses on the application of the research tool NVivo12 qualitative software in the coding design of the experimental design ability assessment task sheet.The sixth part analyzes the secondary school chemistry teachers’ experimental design competencies.Combined with the visualization results of NVivo12,the experimental design competencies of high school and middle school chemistry teachers were analyzed.The seventh part is the conclusion and outlook of the study.
