Project-based learning is a learning style that solve project tasks by group work. This learning approach is widely applied in integrated practical activities and research studies in China. However,it has been rarely applied in regular classrooms and there is a lack of relevant research. In this paper, the application of project-based learning in the regular classroom of high school chemistry is studied.Firstly,we reviewed the research progress of project-based learning.Secondly,project-based teaching strategies are studied in three stages: project planning stage, project implementation stage and project summary. The strategies to complete project-based teaching is elaborated from the roles of teachers and students respectively. The relevant contents of high school chemistry which are closely related to life are selected to show a case study "I advocate for Shanxi vinegar" in regular class based on project-based learning was. Finally, based on the data analysis of questionnaires test papers and interviews, the implementation mode of project-based learning in high school chemistry regular class was explored. We found that project-based learning can promote the implementation of students’ subject core literacy, enhance students’ classroom participation and self-worth,improve students’ teamwork ability and career planning awareness, and also improve teachers’ teaching ability. This research can provide some theoretical and practical guide for chemistry teachers to carry out project-based learning, which is important for promoting the implementation of project-based teaching in secondary school chemistry.
