In recent years, the aging degree of our population is deepening, and the number of patients with cognitive disease is increasing year by year. The fatality rate of cognitive disease is second only to tumor and cardiovascular disease, but there is no cure. The cognitive disease brings a series of problems to the family and society.Mild cognitive impairment is the early stage of cognitive disease.Implementing intervention in the stage of mild cognitive impairment can help people with mild cognitive impairment delay the development of cognitive deterioration or help them reverse cognitive impairment to cognitive normal.Executive function, which can control and coordinate individual cognitive activities,is an important part of cognition. The lower the executive function, the worse the cognitive status. The decline in executive function is one of the characteristics of cognitive decline in mild cognitive impairment stage. At the same time, executive function has plasticity,so social work can can help patients with mild cognitive impairment delay cognitive decline or improve cognitive function by intervening in the executive function of them.Horticulture therapy is one of the important non-drug therapies for improving cognition.By using plants to stimulate the five senses, the stimulus information, which can feedback the functional regulation and nerve repair of brain areas related to executive function such as the frontal lobe and temporal lobe,is conveyed to the sensory areas of the cerebral cortex to improving the executive function of patients with mild cognitive impairment. The elderly with mild cognitive impairment were taken as the research objects in this study. The study combined with the characteristics of mild cognitive impairment, executive function and horticultural therapy to design the group work intervention program.Quasi-experimental design was adopted to design the experimental group and the control group.Twenty research objects were selected, ten of which were experimental group and ten the control group.Horticultural group intervention activities were conducted once a week for a total of 6 sections, while the control group only carried out ordinary group activities. The executive function and cognitive status of the experimental group and the control group were measured before and after the activities in order to analyze the effectiveness of the group intervention. The intervention was carried out from nine dimensions of metacognitive index of executive function and behavioral management index, including inhibition, shift, emotional control,self-monitoring,initiation,working memory, planning, task monitoring and organization of materials. The study intervene the executive function of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment by horticultural group,in which horticultural plants were used as media. The results were quantitatively studied by using the "Mini-mental Status Examination" and "Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function",and qualitatively studied by interviewing. The results showed that the horticultural group could effectively improve the executive function of the elders with mild cognitive impairment, including inhibition, shift, emotional control,self-monitoring,working memory, planning, task monitoring and organization of materials dimensions, and could improve the cognitive ability of them.
