A Study On The Influencing Factors Of Youth Happiness In Our Country

"Let youth blossom gloriously in the fiery practice of comprehensively building a modern socialist country." This is the message of General Secretary Xi Jinping to young people in the report of the 20 th Party Congress.As the backbone of reviving the great Chinese dream and building socialism,the subjective well-being of youth is particularly important for their own development and the development of society.Family and work are the two major elements in the lives of contemporary youth,and they occupy most of the time in a day,and the factors in them affect young people’s value beliefs,mental state and comprehensive quality,so it is important to study happiness,which is the most direct indicator of youth’s healthy development.Therefore,this paper studies the direction and mechanism of the influence of family and work factors on youth happiness,explores whether the influencing factors are significantly different in different regions,and finally gives conclusions through the perspective of happiness paradox,which can provide some theoretical support and policy suggestions for the government in achieving healthy development of youth.This paper analyzes the data from the China Household Tracking Survey 2020,and selects a sample of 18-45 years old as the research object.Secondly,through the collation and analysis of previous literature,we initially screened out the family factor variables and work factor variables,and established an ordered probit model for regression analysis;thirdly,we studied the effect and mechanism of each variable and happiness,and conducted robustness tests;fourthly,we analyzed the effect of each factor variable among different regions,and conducted heterogeneity analysis under different marital status.Finally,based on the results of the analysis,the "happiness paradox" is observed and analyzed to find out the factors and mechanisms affecting the subjective well-being of modern youth,and to provide targeted suggestions for the future development of youth in China.The research results show that the overall subjective well-being of young people in China is high,but there are still differences caused by various factors,and the regression model analysis shows that the subjective well-being of young people in China is positively influenced by gender,education level,social status,health status,income,etc.Among the family and work factors,marital status,housing status,and social class have positive effects,and children Among the family and work factors,marital status,housing status,and social class have positive effects,while the number of children,working hours,commuting time,and frequency of overtime work have negative effects;the family and work factors have offset mechanisms,thus causing the phenomenon of happiness paradox;the factors affecting subjective happiness and causing the phenomenon of happiness paradox also differ among regions.Based on the analysis of the happiness paradox theory,it is concluded that when economic and wealth accumulation reaches a certain level,people’s understanding of happiness will change,and contemporary youth will pay more attention to psychological and spiritual needs and the role of family in their lives,and the influence of family factors will have a greater and greater impact on happiness,even affecting the role of income factors such as work on the degree of happiness.In turn,it leads to the happiness paradox.
