The Impact Of Labor Mobility On Household Happiness

Happiness,as the ultimate reflection of social well-being,has always been the ultimate pursuit of human activities.Labor flow is the only way for any country in the process of industrialization.The evolution of industrial structure and urban and rural structure cannot be separated from the labor flow between departments,between urban and rural areas and even between countries.With the rapid development of urbanization,migrant workers have increasingly become the choice of employment for more and more labor forces in our country,and labor flow has increasingly become an important social and economic phenomenon.Meanwhile,as a member of the family,the labor force is an important support for the survival and development of the family,and its behavior is closely related to the happiness of the whole family.Based on this,this paper combined relevant theories and social reality to sort out the mechanism of labor flow affecting household happiness,and according to the results of China Household Tracking Survey(CFPS),constructed three-stage balanced panel data by matching individual and family samples,and analyzed the impact of labor flow on household happiness by using panel ordered Logit model.The mediating effect of income status is also examined.The results show that:(1)Labor mobility has a significant negative impact on household happiness;(2)Labor flow has a more significant negative impact on household happiness of residents engaged in primary industry and those located in rural and eastern areas;(3)Income status plays an intermediary role in the influence of labor mobility on household happiness;(4)In addition to labor mobility,factors such as education level,marriage,health status,working status,family close relationship,per capita household capital,housing ownership,car ownership,sense of social justice,pension security and government support all have an impact on household happiness.Based on the above research conclusions,this paper proposes the following policy suggestions on how to improve the household happiness of migrant labor groups:(1)Improve the income distribution and redistribution system to achieve the goal of common prosperity;(2)Optimize the industrial structure and promote the benefits of industrial upgrading to be shared by all;(3)Promoting urban-rural integration and promoting coordinated development among regions;(4)Promote equal access to public services and promote the process of citizenization in an orderly manner.
